I've looked into this and found that you can't just buy a single £1 pack, it's a recurring payment every 7 days whether you need it or not. http://shop.ee.co.uk/price-plans/free-sim?

You aren't doing well are you?

You couldn't have looked very well, just like any other pack the £1 can easily be stopped by either stopping it in the "My Account" feature online or by texting "STOP PACK" to 150.

When you don't know something it's always preferable to ask "can you?" rather than "you can't!", one makes you look intelligent and enquiring while the other...doesn't ;).

    PS
MSE takes a dim view of affiliate links, you might want to remove yours and place a normal direct link in your post.
So, are you saying you can only top up as little as £5 online?

Why don't you just try it rather than question it? but yes, you can top up £5 online.

I got my sim yesterday but haven't used it yet. Do I have to top it up? I only want to try the data speed out really, no plans to use 100 GB. I've got unlimited data with Three at the moment.

The data will start working shortly after you put the sim in a phone, it doesn't need a top up to activate.

  • read the above , sim received today and installed in my phone , device shows it as a Tmobile , however emergency calls only , no internet and cannot "connect" to network,

have tried outside , same situation

Thats what it say on the website
    No strings, no contract

Just free access to loads of extras from Dan and Phil, including weekly text messages and a whopping 100GB of free data each month.
It's a great chance to see what life's like on the EE network and to try out 4GEE, if you've got a 4G phone.
Try our Limited Edition SIM for two months and if you like it, we'll help you find the pay as you go pack that's right for you, so you can carry on enjoying EE without a contract.
This offer is only available to UK residents aged 16 or over.

I think you can also text 'AL' to 150, but it isn't an account in the traditional sense, it's more just registering with EE. Open the EE webpage and click the "My Account" at top right and just register the sim. You can then see the allowances and add or remove packs using the online page.
