FREE EE SIM 100GB - 4G data for two months - no strings, no contract
Comments
-
There is also an EE payg SIM offer which says 100 MB a month free for life.
That will be too modest for some, but it could keep old occasional Samba SIM users ticking along, especially if using the Opera browser with data compression and with images turned off some of the time.
I would be interested in the 100mb free for life sim, but can't find it? The other one doesn't do anything for me because I don't use much internet, already have a suitable contract with 100mb and won't have any use for yet another freebie until that particular contract runs out in May. The free for life 100mb would then be very useful if it exists!
Anyone got a link for the 100mb free sim please?0 -

It's applicable to any new sim.

Our phones and tablets come with a gift of 100MB free data every single month. The offer applies to all new pay as you go phones (including SIM Only) and tablet customers who join EE from 15 October 2014.
The offer ends for phones and SIMs on 28 December 2014 and tablet on 31 January 2015. Just top up at least £5 on your phone by 4 January 2015 or register the tablet and activate the free data online by 6 February 2015.
The EE offer is available across EE stores, online at ee.co.uk or over the phone – and through our pay as you go indirect partners. T-Mobile and Orange voice customers qualify too, if they switch to EE during the period of the offer.

then the Buy SIM link, with which a £5 initial top up is required to get it going.
Or there are a couple of such SIMs on eBay - Christmas offer - for 99p, but these will also require a £5 top up later.
But go for it now, not wait until May, as the offer lasts until 28 December for phones and SIMs, and 31 Jan for tablets
I went in the High Street shop, so as to check whether it was possible to get this without selecting an optional pack to begin with (yes, but she did ask me first which I wanted), and also ask about use in a modem, which she half blurred over but said it wasn't an issue as phones use data as well (I'm not entirely convinced by this answer, but will see how it goes or call 150 to check).
I think this will suit me if the modem/tethering isn't an issue. Wifi at home, wifi at work and some social places, occasional mobile data such as brief browsing or maps applications. For other people interested, remember to turn off all automatic app updates and do them manually at home, and ping less often or just manually for emails etc on tablet.
Maybe I should have raised this offer as a separate thread, instead of adding to this one. I'll contact Browntoa later to discuss possibly splitting it.0 -

You need to top up initially by £5 before it's initialised - so it's not really free. You'd presumably then need to esnure it doesn't expire, and should it use credit before the free 100mb you'd end up topping up more regularly.
Although I don't really have a use for this until May, I can get a totally free 12 month contract (with a smaller than usual profit) using cashback, so may now go for that while it's there.
Thanks for the links though.0 -
If you go to the EE Ebay shop http://stores.ebay.co.uk/eeukshop/
It shows 100mb free on all sims, which means if you buy this one
for 99p http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EE-4G-Multi-SIM-on-pay-as-you-go-inc-25-Minutes-50-Texts-plus-4-credit/181596106950?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D28111%26meid%3D8f9e509f5ee64210b4e026f4fb8885d2%26pid%3D100005%26prg%3D11472%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D291306653881&rt=nc
It will come with £4 credit 25 minutes and 50 texts, don't see it would need topping up ?It's not just about the money0 -
I think you're probably right, and I hadn't seen that one.
Set up an online account for it, and cancel the pack being automatically renewed.0 -
Well, I don't need anything until May - and by then something better may have come up (all my deals are better - but rarer nowadays!). I'm still considering the 12 month deal; I make a small profit and get minutes as well as the 100mb, and it will extend my window of use until this time next year. I'm still also not sure whether the free 100mb would kick in before you've used up any credit purchased - in which cas you'd have to top up as well now and then.
The only reason I'm hesitating on the 12 month deal is that it isn't as profitable as usual and may be a stumbling block if a really profitable deals comes along too soon (too many contracts in a certain period can cause the application to be declined). I guess my 8 contracts and one free Sainsburys sim (about to expire) isn't too bad!0 -

Even if it did you've still got the 25 mins and 50 texts plus the £4 credit for 99p which is still a good dealIt's not just about the money0 -
Came through today's post.
