Oh and Scott really likes the waitrose mini potato rosti (not salty) so don't feel bad lol0

I wasn't thinking that was wondering how you managed to cook the waffle in the toaster katiechoc :rotfl: oh dear my brains had it ...
That's exactly what I was thinking - mine seem to take ages in the oven! :rotfl:Tell us your secret Katie - how do you cook a potato waffle in a toaster?!..0 -
Re. swimming pools - ours is good when it comes to buggies (there's a 'buggy area' near the reception where you can deposit a £1 coin and securely attach it with something that resembles a bicycle lock) and not too bad on baby changing facilities (sturdy, stand-alone changing units, although I still have to keep a close eye on her as she's a real wriggler), but rubbish when it comes to lockers. There are tons of them, far more than necessary, but they're all really long and narrow and the door snaps shut if you don't hold it open. Holding a baby whilst holding the door open AND trying to squash a bag into the locker is nigh on impossible... Now that she's older I sit her on the floor on my towel whilst I wrestle with door & bag, but when she was younger I had to ask random strangers to hold the door open. Whoever designed those clearly never had a baby!0

Thanks for all your support re. nursery - much appreciated
Today didn't go too badly, there were a few tears after I left, but her key person (who's lovely, and who my LO is starting to get attached to) managed to distract her by walking around with her and looking at stuff. She also managed to put her down for a nap, only took her 10 minutes, and then she slept for 45 minutes. No tears after she woke up, she ate all her lunch and was happily playing when I arrived. So all in all, not bad
So that's it for settling in - we're back on Monday for her first proper day,* although we've decided to have her do shorter days in the beginning until she gets used to being there. My OH works shifts on a 24-hour rota, so his hours vary from week to week, but next week he'll be able to drop her off at 11.30/12, and then I'll pick her up at 5. Fingers crossed she'll still be OK on Monday after three days at home
*I'm back at work on Monday  Booooo!0 -
Hello all x
Hotbern - Ive updated list
Nutella - glad lo is better today at nursery, must be so hard but it takes time and you are doing all the right things x
Loving the cute piccies on here too x
Sunshine - hugs for u & Aiden hope he is improving x
Mil gone home today after staying with us since Sunday, house is a tip !!0 -
Glad today was better Nutella, hope next week is ok. Are you looking forward to getting back to work - apart from leaving LO? Hope you'll have time to pop on every so often too! Oh and glad she liked the weetabix!
Um re waffle in the toaster, I just stick it in, like a bit of toast! Takes a bit longer, maybe 10 minutes to get nice and crispy but quicker than the oven. G had his with a bit of cheese on top and it was a definite winner! Probably a good job that was the last one though, far too easy and tempting to have lying around all the time!Newborn thread member

Now I really want potato waffles - haven't had one in years!
I've got mixed feelings about returning to work - I'm looking forward to adult company and conversations about things other than poo and sleep. And using my brain again. And having a proper income - money is starting to get a bit tight. But not looking forward to spending so much time away from my little girlI'll be doing compressed hours - full time (35 hours) in four days and one of those days will be from home, so I'll be in the office (and LO will be at nursery) on Mon, Wed and Fri, then I'll be working from home on Tues and have Thurs off. So I'll still be able to spend quite a bit of time with her whilst still having a proper income
Oh, and I'll definitely still be popping on here whenever I can - I'm not leaving you lovely ladies anytime soon!0
