Bluegreen, Just a tip. I put my carcasses in the freezer in a bag. Before I put it in I place a baking sheet over it and press down to crush it.
    Saves on space.

Great tip, thanks!! I will do that :D

    Hi everyone,

I'm here until 31st July so hopefully won't be posting on my own :(

Just paid 2nd purse for items used over the last few days. I find it easier to do this as I can keep track on my spends and stock. Total is looking shocking and we have another week yet.

SIL came unexpectedly on Saturday with her 3 children. I had just started lunch so had to feed her brood as well. Virtually wiped out my supply of cheese, and did use all my ham, wraps and salad. Then MIL came unexpectedly yesterday bringing SILs 3 children again. Luckily she must've read my mind and went to MrT for supplies. She is a food snob and bought back MrT's F!nest ham and cheese, plus bread. Remainder is in our fridge now for lunches this week. Don't want to sound or appear mean, but when you are trying to budget......

Working this morning but will need to go to MrT this afternoon for supplies. Have a £5 off £40 spend voucher which a few months ago I would have easily spent without question. I'm looking at it now thinking I hope I don't need to use it!

    Have a good day everyone.

  • Have just gathered all of my receipts up. Total is now £286.09. I hopefully won't have to shop again until the weekend. I'll just have to wait and see. Something usually crops up with me.
    Everyone else is doing great.

Morning, no spend day here today.
Lunch will be free from a restaurant that my husband has to visit today. It is rare that he works local so it is a treat sort of.
Dinner will be left over guniea fowl curry.
Have a good day everyone x

What a lovely day - hope everyone is able to finally enjoy the sunshine! :j

Had a mooch around Sainsbobs yesterday and was moaning about YS 50p off this or that, when I spotted 3 x YS beef joints, reduced from around £5.50 to £1.35.......:T

It is absolutely AGES since I had beef!!

I would like to cook a piece in SC and use for sandwhiches for the week but I find beef tends to fall apart and get stringy and be hard to slice from SC.......any suggestions to avoid that? I wonder if I just cook it too long or should do it on low instead of high????

I had a D*nald Russell delivery of 1/2 price lamb burgers delivered today and there were 2 free seasoned beef burgers too.......quick panic at whether I could get it all in freezer but just managed it, phew :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I have taken HM LO spag bol portions out of the freezer for tea.......I think I have a value mozzarrella in the fridge, so will probably make it into a pasta bake.

One piece of beef defrosting to cook tomorrow......if someone can advise me the best way to do it to avoid it getting stringy (it's topside).

I have plenty of eggs and some LO thick sliced ham in the fridge, so have made some pastry and will make a quiche later.

I REALLY fancy some cake......trying NOT to make any because I have been munching FAR too much recently :o but if I have eggs LO from the quiche, I fear a marble cake may be calling my name!! :D:D:D

:Just back from mr t. Split my £60 odd shop into 3 so I've got 3 £5 vouchers to spend on a £40 shop before 5 August.
Also bought kids clothes for school and got £10 off immediately from a voucher I picked up instore plus another £5 voucher through the till.
DS1 has got a birthday coming up and is desperate for some Skylanders so got 2 triple packs for £19.97 each (included in todays totals above :)) By the time I have cashed in all the vouchers the six figures will have cost me £9.94 instead of £47.94 if I had bought them singly at Tesco.:j
Because birthday stuff and clothes come out of a different budget I only have £22.36 to add to my total. Unless something goes seriously wrong I should be under budget when I finish the month next weekend:T

£9.50 spend today, emergency supplies of soluble aspirin, throat spray, antibac mouthwash and kitchen roll (8pack). Tonsillitis. Yuk.

Mr T online coming tomorrow, which am sure was under the £80 so might just scrape through...

Evening! Popped on to announce a spend of 20.26 today, leaving me a whopping £10.99 for the rest of the month. I truly hope it can be done - only 4 days left!
