I don't think you're being impatient. I applied online for their Major ISA and received the transfer form by email the following day. Did you give them an email address? If not, your form may be in the post. You know your account number and sortcode from online banking so get the online form now and send it off. I can't see how this would be a problem. (Even with Santander ;))

As I'm an existing ISA customer I had to apply by phone, rather than online - don't know why, apart from the opportunity for the adviser to 'cross sell' another product ;) In case the promised 'Welcome Pack' doesn't arrive, I've decided to send off the online transfer form. If this messes things up, I'm sure there will be other equally attractive offers along in the next couple of weeks :rotfl:

I haven't received anything yet. Am I too impatient? Does anyone know whether sending a completed transfer form downloaded from the website will cause any problems? Santander haters do not need to reply :rotfl:

I would send it to Bradford (based on Siobhan789's apparently authoritative advice :)) I don't want to miss the transfer in deadline waiting for a form which might not arrive :p
I received my pack on Saturday 10 March after applying by phone on 8 March. The transfer form has the Leicester address but is also printed on both sides. They tell you to retain sheet 2, but unless I can photocopy cleanly (which I can't) then you can't retain sheet 2.

So I decided to use the online form, completing the form on the screen. making a more legible copy anyway, and print just side one to send. Then print another side 1 and 2 to retain for records. I have sent it in the prepaid envelope to the pre-addressed Bradford address.

Thanks for this. I did use the online transfer form in the end and sent it to Bradford. Can I ask what else you received in your 'Welcome Pack' - I'd hate to think I was missing something (other than the wonky form and prepaid envelope) :p

I 'upgraded' my Flexible ISA Issue 3 to this 4% offer on 7th March by phone. I told the adviser that I also wanted to transfer in funds from another provider and probably pay in 2012/13 allowance and was told that I would receive a Welcome Pack containing transfer forms.

Account was upgraded and interest credited on 8th March.

Welcome packs can take up to 5 working days to come out I would allow that due to how busy they are at the moment sending them out, yeah Bradford is the correct address working in saving opening for nearly 3 years now and that's where we have always told customers to send it, Leicester is on some of the forms because they do have an office there due to a&l take over and to not over load Bradford so it really doesn't matter where u send it between the two it will get done x

Just hit the Santander stupidity brick wall. Applied on line on 7th. Today received a letter "Sorry we cannot process this application because you have already opened an ISA and contributed £5340 this year" and giving me an ISA application to fill in and send in after 5th April or an internal transfer form to convert the existing ISA. My plan was to transfer a Halifax ISA but they have just made things bloody difficult. They also quote this as a "Fixed Rate ISA 2" but give no details, summary box, interest rates or fix term of what I would be applying for. Aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrggghhhhh

Thanks Siobhan789. I thought you must have insider knowledge :D

Taking 5 working days to send out a transfer form would not be a problem, except that you have to get the form back to them within 14 days

    • Two page letter about how to use the account
    • The Application form resulting from phone application bearing name, address, DOB, sort code, a/c no, NI No, date of issue, date account opened, and a declaration. No signature of course as it was 'signed' over the phone!
    • Another piece of paper with lots of guff about how they explained all and everything is on their computers, how I consent to them contacting me about products and services. Dammit it I forgot to tell them no contact, but they didn't ask!
    • Information sheet about the account
    • Transfer form
    • Envelope
    • Booklet about General Terns and conditions
    • Terms of Business
    • Santander Savings Account User Guide
All in all too much paper!!

Yeah up to 5 working in normal times it's like 2 day but at this time of year it 5 working days, I've been offering to email the customer it if they wish to save them time waiting.

    Oh dear. :(
I wonder how many more customers might receive the same letter.

I've filled out two transfer forms as I have already used this years ISA allowance. But have held off posting the forms back.

I think I may go into the local branch and see if they can initiate the transfers.

    Ok, plan of action

Sending my Transfer form to Narborough

I have received my email from Santander to let me know my account is open however I notice that there is nowhere on the transfer form that asks you to provide account number or sort codes. How do they know what account to deposit the transferred ISA into ?
