Ooh I love it when Mr S has offers on pulses :) they're on offer until beginning of Feb so I might stock up, Branston are a tad sweet so might start making my own ones.
Oh and to everyone saying thank you... "you're welcome :)" it's really no bother and is really helping me focus on [STRIKE]the fact I'm hungry and not ordering pizza[/STRIKE] trying to find good bargains instead of senseless shopping. Although these SMs really do need better websites for us to trawl for bargains.

I am sure we will all report any bargains we find
  • Hi Everyone

I've added more spends to that post. Its quite important that you read it as it shows what happens to your weekly budget after you've been doing the 2nd Purse for a while, its MAGIC! :j:j:j

For the 1st shop that really was all I needed for the week, and for the 2nd I'm still adding to my stockpile. This is a GREAT time to stock up on breakfast cereal there's a great selection out there at the moment.

This month I spent £37.45 from the 2nd purse deduct that from the balance in 2nd purse £78 leaves £41.55,

Then add £10 for Jan 2nd Purse payment = £51.55

Pay purse £3 per day for 15 days for the food we ate from the freezer £45.00 + £51.55 = £96.55

Then pay for the other items used in Jan £16.25 = £112.80

Transfer £12.80 to the 3rd Purse towards the £300 freezer.

1 now have £100 in the 2nd Purse and £12.80 in the 3rd Purse.

Now I'm going to add what I spent from the 1st purse to my other expenditure listed above £61.50 + £108.70 = £170.20 which equates to £5. 49 per day which is £38 .43 per week.

Thats for 2 people + 1-2 family members per day. All toiletries . cleaning materials. Treats, Donald Russell Butchers etc.

So I now have £100 in my 2nd purse for restocking. I bought a lot more than I normally do this month I usually spend about £10 -£30.

So if I spend £30 on restocking in Feb and use a similar amount of my stock as Jan then add my £10 . I will have £100 in the 2nd Purse and £53.80 in the 3rd Purse towards my freezer. It mounts up fairly quickly .

I used to blow £500-£600 per month on groceries so...

I don't go over £200 per month on my food budget, so when I see my outgoings coming in around £170 per month that lets me see I'm doing better than ok.
Because of the increases in fuel/utility bills £100 of what I used to spend on groceries is allocated to those items.

I also save £200 every month in an ISA, The SM used to get this money £2400 per year, as of this month there's £5,000 in this.
    1st Purse £114.19 Monthly GB
    2nd Purse ££100

  • I'm feeling kinda left out ...I have quite a good stock pile now, but i have NO beans  and I have no local Lid* :rotfl: i think i shall just have to be happy with my 12 bags of pasta instead :p

My shop from AF is due later I will come back and let you know what bargains i got. I know AF isn't for everyone, but i've not had a problem with anything from my last order and everything tasted just as it should have :T

Also took some baby wipes out & some thing else (can't remember what now ) so will work out how much i owe to purse 2 and make a note. Think i will do all my transfers at the same time at the end of the week :T

S.P.Empire is open for business :rotfl:
