Good Morning everyone (And it IS a good morning:D)
Kerri (and who else said about DS having colic?) DD had her first appointment yesterday which tickled me because DH and DS2 came with and the chiropractor asked DS: "Praat jy Afrikaans?" hich means do you speak Afrikaans? He's also from South Africa and we ended up spending loads of time talking about it. He showed me a new way to burp DD and did abit of minipulation.

She and I went to bed at about 19:30 last night (after bringing up some winds that would put DH to shame;)) and slept until just after midnight when we had a session of eating and burping and then went back to sleep until 6am:T

And she feels so relaxed and floppy this morning:)

As for the challenge...our house is known to our friends and family as Polkadot Palace, so it seems fitting for this.

    I also bought...wait for it... altogether now....BEANS:rotfl:
last night from Lido's-only 4 packs for now though-as DH will have beans three times a day every day if I allowed it.

I also remembered that I have an old savings account which hasnt been used for ages...it was opened as an account to put the "save the change" pennies in-but then when I opened up an extra savings account for DS2, there was a mix up and they ended up adding a savings account with a higher interest rate to send save the change to. They couldnt close it telephonically and asked me to go to a branch to close it-I never did. So I'll use that in the meantime while I wait for my pencil bags to arrive-and then Ill prolly use it as the second purse.

ETA: Just logged in to internet banking to transfer money from the grocery budget and discovered I had enough money in the save the change account to pay for it

Mr M's website is pants, so I can't update that as you can't tap in to search and it doesn't work on mysupermarket grrr.

I'm sure I recall something where they said that they do it on purpose to stay out of the price wars (where they put out adverts saying x number of products cheaper, etc.) Means you have to go to the store to find out, and then you spend money because you're already there.

Does mean I'm going to have to look out for prices for my shop when I'm there next weekend.

Hating this new mse design :( am now on 125% page magnification just to make the page look right so all your comments are HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE!!

psychobabble's tip to use CP-Edit Options-Miscellaneous Options-Forum Skin and changing to stretchy seems to have done the trick for me. Give it a try
I'm feeling kinda left out ...I have quite a good stock pile now, but i have NO beans  and I have no local Lid* :rotfl: i think i shall just have to be happy with my 12 bags of pasta instead :p

I also have no beans. Nor pasta :(:( On a low carb diet (and even if I wasn't, not a bean's fan - prefer homemade :)) But I do have a good stock of toilet rolls and coke zero ;)

The official line from Mr M (for the last 12 months or so) is that they are currently looking into expanding into the on-line shopping experience. No dates or any more info than that though (I'm an ex-employee, so got that info from briefings)

polkadot - glad little one is feeling better and more floppy :) my sister was terrible at winding my nephew but luckily for her I was pretty good for a non-mum.

beencounting - I've got payday tomorrow it's been such a loooong month!

HelenPie - I shall have another go at the Mr M website to try to find some steals :) There must be an easier way to use it. Otherwise, I shall look for standard stockpile items and compare prices to see if they're any cheaper there :)

Mothership - I've included your 2nd weekly spend post on the first post so people can get a feel for how it can reduce the weekly food spend. It definitely makes sense though.

No beans for me today, I have £7 left in my grocery budget so I'm treating myself to a coffee shop sarnie for lunch. Although, my IBS hasn't been playing me up since I started eating beans everyday...

Have a good morning everyone :)

oooh a name for my little shop - will put my thinking cap on. My store is starting to get some stock but I haven't ran out of anything yet to buy from it - lol

Was in Mr S and they have canned pulses on offer 5 tins for £2.00 - yesterday I bought 20 tins thinking the cost would be £10 but no it was £8.96 so some other discount kicked in - I bought a general mix of the tins, today I went back and bought 8 tins of the most expensive tins the mixed pulses £1.22 so I saved a lovely £8.22. The offer is only on the pulses in water, I am almost tempted to go back for some more tomorrow as we love adding these into veggie stews and chillis !!!

20 tins should have cost you £8 shouldn't they?

Are you sure Mr S didnt overcharge you 96p?

I have only recently started checking my receipts properly and they rarely DON'T overcharge me on something or other.....:(

I find them really sneaky about what is/isn't included, often with similar items right next to each other, so you don't actually get the discounts.

I also find it frustrating that sometimes the receipts just show discounted items at the discounted price, rather than full price then taking off the discount, IYSWIM. Makes it hard to see how much I've saved, and now also difficult to know what my stock prices should be ;)

Mr W did this to me the other day with chocolate, so I got them to refund me the difference as the signage was misleading :) yummy fruit n nut for cheapo :T:T
I might start taking a pen & paper round the SM with me so I know exactly what it should say when I get the receipt. No idea why I don't already do this tbh.

I took photos of all the offer signs with my phone last weekend :rotfl: Kept thinking that they would see me and think I was some kind of (terribly bad) spy for a competitor :rotfl::rotfl:

Does Mr M do a leaflet through the post? That would be most excellent if they do, or one that they have instore?

Thats a REALLY good idea! I just got this weeks roll back email from MrA,going to check the las page to see if I can add anything.

DH is very impressed with me now. He just came in and asked for £10 to get the car washed. I dipped into the "petrol" sleeve of my home made "purse" (7 lever arch file pencil bags held together by two hinged rings).Watching me page through it his jaw dropped with a "we have money?" :rotfl:
