Atos well Im waiting for the result of my appeal letter. Iv gone from excempt under incapacity to the wrag group. The nurse has put that Ill be well in six months. Iv had bi polar for the last eight years and the doctors have not found a cure yet. Also Iv physical problems that include nerve damage and would have put me into the support group.
The nurse wrote down some of what Id said, lied about medical information that she said she had from my doctors and decided that he was more medically qualified than a psychiatrist when deciding about my mental illness.
Atos are nothing but bully boys who have set about employing people who act like the SS when dealing with the sick.0 -
Just bumping this to cross reference this thread, for everyone to read, including the atos PR rep.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
[/greenhighlight][redtitle]
The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -

Does atos respect the mentally ill?
What part of their assesment is competant to judge a mental ill person or better than the mental health dept at the hospital?
How do they deal with person who has neurlogical and mental illness who may stand in front of them on day with two arms and legs, but yet in the next moment may have collapsed another words how do they deal with epileptics with mental health problems who may be sat there who may not show their full illness untill flat on their face. We cant of course call a fit to order !!!!
Do they respect neurological and mental health consultants?
Or are they happy counting limbs that seem fine on that day?
I personally when time comes will need home visit, but have some fab discrete cctv at home
Big brother will be protecting me as I dont trust atos, the can of course reply what they do to protect the mentally ill to make sure the full picture is shown as any profiesional will know it takes time to trust and talk about it.
Physically disabled people are treated just the same as as people with MH problems by ATOS, most people with physical disabilities also have mental health problems brought on by their disabilities but people like you are so deep in your own self pity you ignore that fact.
My husband looks perfectly fit but hes very ill with kidney failure, heart failure +angina, he also had a stroke last year and thats left him with a big blood clot in his brain that he is to ill to remove it as would be done in fitter people and he also has TIA's (mini strokes ) on a weekly basis but he was found fit after his first medical but instead of self pity we built his case for a reconsideration and he went into the support group without an appeal where he still is two years and three ESA50 and two medicals later, his last ESA50 + plus loads of medical evidence from his 6 consultants and a very supportive GP was enough to keep him in the support group, thats how you fight ATOS0 -

Sensible post with a sensible conclusion....give them plenty of evidence and answer the questions fully and accurately and you should be OK.
I will just add though that people with mental health problems are not always 'together' to present a case correctly. I don't know what the answer is to this, other than to have someone to help.
I'm not saying ATOS never makes mistakes and indeed writes wrong/inaccurate information down sometimes, but I still find it difficult to believe that it happens in EVERY SINGLE CASE as some people on here would have us believe.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
What should a customer do, if at the end of an assessment, that was recorded, the assessor insists that they must sign a document that will stop them from submitting evidence to any party unless its directly related to obtaining the benefit in question?
Considering that action is a attempt in my opinion to pervert the cause of justice, by stopping a claimaint from submitting evidence to courts, police, gmc etc?
Should the refuse, and lose their benefits, or lose the evidence?
Should they sign, and then go to the police to report the crime that seemed to have taken place?
OR what?
They should stop being so paranoid. As long as you can use the evidence to help get your Benefit, what's the problem?(AKA HRH_MUngo)

I would also like to ask the ATOS rep, what risk assessment has been done, and if permission sought from the DWP, for them to post on a benefit help section of a popular forum.
Specifically considering, as a member of parliament put it, your company is "feared and loathed" (see quote)
source
And what considerations were looked at as to wether this is a safe or good idea?
(for example, was it researched wether doing so would put fear into any claimaints minds that ATOS are on the same forum as them?)
(would make people already feeling harrassed by atos, think that they are now not even free to post on a forum without atos watching?)
ect.)
(wether it would make people less likely to post, or ask for help etc)
.
Why on earth should ATOS be 'watching' them ? I'm sure ATOS have better things to do than monitor peoples' posts on a forum!
This really is paranoia to the nth degree.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Just recently a family member had to be assessed by ATOS regarding their DLA claim, nothing but praise from us regarding the ATOS assessor who carried out this assessment. Very polite, very professional. The report was sent to the DLA unit and the award remained the same.
The witch hunt on here regarding another member is disgraceful and hopefully MSE will deal with the offending members.I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!0 -

I am well aware of paranoia, I have suffered from it as a symptom of depression, but it does no-one any favours, including the person suffering, to pretend that it is an acceptable way of seeing the world, anymore than being too trusting is.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Its not a witchunt in my case I hope they want to reply to reasure, much nicer for the rep who will arrive at my house if I can feel safe they will respect me.
The stories of poor treatment are all over the web, they cant be all made up?
They can't all be made up, but some are, and you very rarely hear about the 'medicals' that went OK, which I'm pretty sure are in the majority.
Assume you are going to be treated fairly, explain your case as well as you can, with evidence and try not to worry too much (I know that can be difficult sometimes).(AKA HRH_MUngo)
