I think that is the best plan. ATM probably can't afford both I don't think, but will get a human one and let animal washing build up...maybe get a smaller one second hand for them to keep us going for a while, shame because if I could afford the bigger one it would be a business expence, not a personal one. I think for the industrial one I'll get a coin operated one.

Not trying to be funny but did you say a Bosch machine lasted 10 years –that sounds a short life for a well-built machine. Can you check any threads to see if anyone knows about typical repair costs and number of extra years or cycles of use after a repair?

Are there any stores that buy these to recondition and resell them so you can still make a few bob? Some repairmen run a side-business selling reconditioned machines I gather.

One more piece of the care jigsaw identified .... milkandmore .... looks like the perfect way to get regular food delivered to an old. No minimum delivery, 3 delivery days/week, no delivery charge.... trying to use bigger shops would involve mathematical gymnastics and minimum order levels. If your only need is for a loaf of bread twice a week, a bottle of milk twice a week, a small bunch of fruit twice a week and one random 'treat' (crisps/choc biscuits) then it'd be impossible to do it with £25 minimums, delivery slots to match and delivery charges.

Do you mean your local milk man?

Do banks no longer have a Saturday counter service? Went to pay some coppers in (robbed the piggybank) and I have to use the machine. Oh, the machine doesn't take coins.

Well, kind of, I guess so... although I've never seen one round these parts - and the m&m site says deliveries are just 3 days/week. So who knows, eh :)

I liked the "new beech hedge" one where it looks like Dave is burying his wife :rotfl::A

I don't seem to be able to post on the other place, it says something about awaiting moderation. Is PN the mod? If so, can you please allow me in, PN?

I think about ten years. I know nine plus...not sure how much longer though....I thought that was quite good? Its had a tough life and had to deal with more than normal domestic washing machines in nice clean homes:o

What I might do is have a repair man out, see what it is and if its ''economical'' then repair this as the interim dog washing machine.

    That's a very good idea.

My fridge freezer went bang in january and we'd only had it thirteen months so I looked into how long white goods last.
Most of the advice on the web was that even cheap brands of kitchen equipment are so reliable they would be lasting for 5-10 years and upmarket brands (which Bosch most certainly is) would be more- heard people on threads here talk about 15+ years for washing machines ( but don't know if they needed some work on them during that time).
