I won't join you as there is just me in my household, so it would not be the same, but i hope to use up my Christmas goodies rather than spend money in January.
I will look on with interest.

I'd love to but I didn't go mad getting things in for Xmas, plus the kids start back at school and will need packed lunch things, that I don't have in at the moment so I can't either. Plus I have already booked my slots for the next two deliveries
I think I am getting a bit addicted to Mr T Online shopping... and its saving me money as I am not being tempted when i am in storeIts easier to do savvy shopping online IMHO
Good luck, I am sure you will manage it
ps - I also want to stockpile lots of VATable items so that means spending more than usual :eek:0 -
We always used to eat through the cupboards and freezers in January and not to buy anything other than fruit. I don't think we'll do that this year as we're now living fairly rurally and I'm concerned that if we get poor weather again we need to have full cupboards. I might have a go in April when I'm happier that we won't get snowed in!
Good luck!Piglet

We are pretty rural too and I have nightmares about being snowed in (even though we are in Cornwall!) hence the fully stocked and freezers cupboards, but thinking rationally we can always take the tractor to Mr T 5 miles away if we need, and I have so much stored up I feel the need to use it! Animal feed will have to be brought but that isnt included in the £20 budget due to there being ..............2 dogs, 5 cats, 3 ferrets, 72 chickens and 18 horses, part of the reason why we need to cut down in order to feed them!Member 1145 Sealed Pot Challenge No4

I envy your tractor! We're only in Dorset and our lane is only just passable from the snow a 8 days ago!
We used to have real fun eating everything in the cupboards and the freezers, it just to get a bit interesting at the end of the month :rotfl:Piglet

The tractor is essential with the farm feeding all the animals without is just such hard work! Tomorrow OH is cooking turkey curry with leftover turkey, Im going to freeze the leftover beef I think as we shall have cauliflower cheese on Tues to eat up a cauli and a few bits of yellowing brocolli! has anyone got the Jamies 30 min meals recipe for cauliflower or was it macaroni cheese as I seem to remember that used creme fraiche and ive got a tub to use up!?Member 1145 Sealed Pot Challenge No4

Hi janeawej,
I'll join you as I really need to sort out my cupboards and freezer for new year and I think I could manage to get loads of 'free meals' out of them.
As we have an existing thread, I'll merge this one with it later.

Great thanks Pink Winged, Ive already started my menu plan for the 2 weeks, hoping the kids arnt going to be too fussy! The store cupboard is bulging at the seams, kids and OH call it the 'seige cupboard' as they say I keep enough food in there incase we are under siege for months on end and cant get out to get supplies! lolMember 1145 Sealed Pot Challenge No4

Hi Jane,
I'll join you as I did similar last year and up to Feb 24 spent a total of £95, which I am going to aim for again but with a slight variation this time that other than fresh fruit & veg, milk, eggs, cheese and butter I'm not going to buy anything until the freezer is basically empty. It is me and my 2 teenage daughters eating 3 times a day - we all take packed lunch to school/colleg/work. I'm going to aim to spend no more than £100 to the end of February and then reasses wat we have left in store. Even my cleaning cupboards are bulging with BOGOF's.
Good Luck - lets see how we go.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0
