It My girlfriends birthday soon, and i wanted to buy here some UGG boots, after searching online i found that uggofficial.cc were selling them at a reduced price. They had the "UGG Australia" logo plastered over the website so i jumped at the chance! :j
However i'm very fearfull that i will...
1) Not receive the product, the tracking URL on the website doesnt work and all i currently have is a referrece number.
2) if the item does arrive they wont be legit, after looking over the website in more detail it doesnt look promising.
3) Im not sure if i have been charged? The website said £57.82 and i have been changed £62.70 by CNTOPAY.COM ?
Looking at these forums i have seem a lot of decent from website retailers with UGG products, and this is something that i wasnt aware of... i'm a fella so they are just boots, i didnt realise that people would use this particular product as a scam...?
What can i do to protect myself and get me money back? can i report the items under a dispute with my bank?
Any help would be greatly appreciated and i might even buy you a beer

I assume you paid by card, that much is certain. You should be adequately protected by this, if the goods don't arrive or are fake, just ask your bank to start a charge back.
That's about all you can do with these companies, if this doesn't work, it usually works out as an expensive lesson.
I would also be inclined to cancel the card too if that's the details they have, they will more than likely be a Chinese company and i wouldn't trust them with my details.
PS. I love the pun, whether intended or not "I think i have been mugged off"
EDIT: As predicted, they are Chinese. A WHOIS search found this:

I work within banking and understand that with credit cards you are able to claim under section 75 for 'misrepresentation' etc. but I’m not aware of the laws when it comes down to debit card use?
ps. regarding the pun it was accidental, but has now made me chuckleIf it helped, say thanks...0 -

There not really much Law regarding DD purchases, but both VISA and Mastercard have 'charge back' systems very similar to the S75 CCA claims so I wouldn't worry too much. It can take a little longer though as it isn't a legal obligation.

I had a look over your your 'WHOIS' text and im not sure what im looking at, is the fact that they are based in china a bad thing? from what i understand UGG boots are made in china?
What should be my next steps? As the transaction on my account is for a difference value and from an (what appears) unassociated company, cant i just start a disputes claim with the bank?If it helped, say thanks...0 -

To be fair, a little bit of common sense and VERY basic due diligence would have shown that the site is dodgy.0 -

No it doesn't, but it may help someone else reading this thread.
You simply cannot buy Ugg Australia boots for around £60.
If the boots are not stopped and destroyed at customs (which is happening with greater frequency of late) the copies you receive will be of varying quality. Some are incredibly good, others incredibly bad.
If you paid on Credit Card your best bet is to contact them, though I don't know how you will fare with it being under £100.0 -
Just had a look at their site. Every link "About Us", "Contact Us", "Terms" goes nowhere. So, so obviously a dodgy company.
Even the 'cc' domain should have rang alarm bells.0
