    Hello all :j
    Well, broadband still working...........fingers crossed.
Bitterly cold day and grey skies...........got to go out later to take our lad to opticians to collect his specs so might pop into charity shops on the way back.

Finished off my friends ''hugs in a bottle''..........ended up using a little whisky bottle, covered the lid with a sticker, ribbon round the neck and managed to tie a bow :rotfl: So, thats another thing done.
Just need to work out what to do with a little hessian bag I had a baby tree in yesterday........its only 6 inches tall and apart from a santa sack can't think of anything............brains gone blank !

Hope everyones ok and keeping warm:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hope the weather gets a bit kinder for you Elysia xx

Was sorting out my wardrobe a bit last night and found a couple of large kaftan style nighties that ExMil gave me that are too big and I wont ever wear so decided to cut them up and make some pyjama bottoms out of them for youngest daughter. They have come out ok so will have a look up peacocks or primark (if I can get there) and see if I can get a small white and a small cream vest top to go with them. I have some scraps of fabric left over to may be stitch on the vests so they match.

Forgot to add yesterday that we went in Wilkinsons and found a nice mug set with Twilight Eclipse pics on it, the set included a mug, bar of chocolate both with Eclipse pics on and a bag of marshmallows. The set was £3.95 so not too expensive really and think youngest daughter will love it.

phew I finally made it to the end of the thread. I was on here before way at the start although I don’t expect anyone to remember me as my last post was in March on page 81  eeeeek
I only get the chance when I have no work on really to read at the minute and of course typically every day I settled down to read some more I got work landed on my desk.
I dont want to miss anyone out so I’m going to .....
send virtual hugs to all that need it - hoping all the aches and illnesses are away. :grouphug:
wish everyone that has had a birthday - belated birthday wishes (including Miss Hoodie of course) :bdaycake:
say well done to all those that have had good new/ marks and good things happening to them
and to all those on hols (lucky you) hope the weather is behaving itself for you.
and finally (I think) welcome to all newbies :T
I’ve been reading with interest everyones ideas for Xmas - I’ve got a lot of stuff sorted but I keep adding to my list things that I have read on here. You all inspire me to try to be creative although so far I haven’t had much time to actually give them a shot. The photos of things that have been made are amazing and the descriptions of stuff you are all making sound brilliant. Going to get my finger out soon. promise
When out shopping I have seen far too many things I know a few people would like and yet am completely stumped as to what to get others - always the way with me!

mum2one - can you point me in the right direction for making the flavoured coffees please I remember reading about them and wanting to do some but cant find info about them. DOH!

anyway sorry for the long post

Hiya Kiwi - I do remember you. LOL. Join in when you can, any organising is better than none.

Hiya Rufus - I really envy you, being able to make so many pretty things.

Mary - I glad you made it back safe and sound. Sounds like you picked the right weekend for your trip.

Mum2one - Glad the drip's sorted until you get your new bathroom.

Clare I'm glad you got hotmail and Amazon sorted. I've even been buying stuff here on holiday. DD1 is still at home and keeps complaining because the postman keeps knocking with more parcels.

I still keep popping on but I haven't read the posts properly since Monday, so apologies to anyone I've missed. I'll catch up the weekend as I'll be home tomorrow night.

Welcome back Kiwi..........that must have taken some reading to get through all this thread........:T

Had a good afternoon...........took our lad for his specs and then did the charity shops -he actually came with me with no moaning and in one made comment......''seriously good **** in here!!'' and started picking out bits for his sisters for christmas..........lol
I got some socks off the market, various shades of browns and creams for ''cup of socks''.......white face cloth/mitten I can do something with, couple of balls of wool two shades of blue to do 'weather wally' with (saw it on one of the crafting threads), mug from charity shop.......nice coffee colour pattern, china -49p, then went to the sweet shop to get some marshmallows, choc.buttons, red licourice string and flying saucer for ''make your own snowman''......(I'd already got choc.matchsticks for the arms)..covered gravy tub with snowman paper when I got home and popped all the sweets in cellophane bag and they're now in the tub:j Can't remember which thread that was on............lol
Have printed off some small calendar pages to staple together -must ask OH to get beer mats from the pub;)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

  • Hello

Sounds like everyone's been busy on here lately. Not done a great deal apart from look on the web for some recipes for homemade chocolates and fudge and that kind of thing. Keep buying bits and pieces out of the home baking section whenever I go to the supermarket and am dying to get started!! Think it's still a bit early yet though.

Went to Poundland today and they have some more Christmas bits and pieces in, they had loads of crafty bits too like sequins in all different colours, packs of felt and glitter. They also had a load of Christmas plates and beakers and bit serving dishes etc with santas and snowmen and penguins on. Might be useful for something.

Have decided to make my sister a white chocolate hamper because it's her favourite and there's loads of stuff around now. Have bought a few bits so far but don't want to be too tempted to eat it before I've started. Almost bought some more mint matchmakers but managed to force myself out of the shop before I started grabbing them!

    Hope everyone is ok :)

Evening everyone and hi to kiwi!

Picked up 2 towels for the Christmas Eve Hampers for mum and brother from debenhams £6 from £20 for 2 Christy ones. Thats done then. I think I'll order myself Christmassy or classic DVD from amazon to go into mine as don't need a new towel

Will be making the last lot of chutney this weekend - Hearty Ale Chutney to go with crusty bread and cheese and pickled onions and should be nice for Christmas. Then see if I'm tempted to make Nigella's Christmas Chutney.....if I can get hold of some more jars.......of yes and seville marmalade. Really do need some more jam jars!

I'll be calling into poundland tomorrow to see what they have and also Primarni if I can face the scrum in there!
