We had this for our dinner tonight, it was SO yummy :j :j
I mixed sausage meat (that needed using) bacon and onion, have frozen half the filling in true OS style and will be having it again very soon as even the kids ate it all:beer:All comments and advice given is my own opinion and does not represent the views or advice of any debt advice organisation.

I asked my mum to send me her recipe. It's seen a bit of action......
Gravy
Suet pastry: 6oz SR flour, 3oz suet, pinch of salt makes just the right amount.
Temp in Celsius: 190-200°If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
When are you making it then??0

Maybe this weekend - possibly Sunday. I'm a bit scared though - the suet pastry is the same as dumpling mix, right? Will it weld itself to my hands like it did when I made stew?

yes
:rotfl:Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
Remember when you made pastry for your pie? You need to add the water very slowly, a spoonful at a time. If it gets too wet, that's when it will stick to you

We're having this tomorrow!
I had this down on my menu planner for tomorrow and now we are off to do a car boot sale in the morning I think this will be a real treat after our early start.
And to finish it off we are going to have chocolate puddle pudding. Yummy scrummy in my tummy....it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

Finally got round to it.
Very nice too. Dead easyand didn't make too much of a mess of my kitchen.
What's the best way to reheat the other half tomorrow? Microwave or oven?If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.1 -
Wow MrBE that looks fantastic!!
Personally, I'd reheat in the microwave. For speed and saves heating a whole oven. Course it won't stay crisp at all (the pastry) but I don't mind that. You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
That looks delicious!!!! When do we all get our invite for dinner MrBE?????0
