  • Wow Hogshead I love the cards with chocs on them...good use of choc and nice and cheap to make!!

Another idea for Christmas cards is to get some plain cards and use those glitter glue pens to squiggle a christmas tree small and in the top half of the card...that is it! I did it last year but did not take any pics but everyone asked where I brought them from last year.:D
Trying to earn some pennies from crafting again this year!

What a fantastic thread. Thank you so much for all your fab ideas Helen and for sharing them. I've been following your blog for a while and am always inspired by your makes.

Re Cello bags - I'm a cardmaker and get mine from Wilkinsons. They do all kinds of shapes and I think they are really reasonably priced. They are £1 a pack but I can't remember if that is for 25 or 50. They are self seal too. They also do long and skinnier ones in the Works for 99p for 50 I think.

Not sure if this thread is just for gifts that you can eat, but I have made a couple of these this year for people, and they may be a good seller at a school fayre or teachers presents.

I have to thanks Flourgirl for the idea - these are basically made out of a piece of A4 mountboard; a 12x12 sheet of paper and lots of DST! (Sorry the photo is so big).
2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family.
It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,000

hollie - thanks your a star i was getting really annoyed tried everything but that!

this is my female chocolate reindeer i know she looks a bit deranged couldnt get any craft bits from town so had to use what i had at home and also im not very good at crafting but hopefully i will get better with a bit of time and plenty of practice. i just got a bar of the asda smartprice chocolate to do a trial run took the outer wrapper off and just left the foil on, used some beaded wire which is meant to be a necklace but not sure it goes very well. will have to have a trip to a crafting centre and get some bits.

If you want to do the bags but don't have a die cutter how about simply folding the topper in half much like a table planner/name plate. Buy a corner rouner, you can get them for around £2 & round the edges. This'll make them look a little more designed but without breaking the bank (die cutting WILL do that to you for sure!)

Hi hoghead, thanks for your tip about the corner rounder, any idea which type to get or best place to buy type it into google and ebay and got a little lost.

    stocking26.jpg

This is a Poundland stocking I altered last year - and I see they have them again this year.

When I bought it it had a horrid plastic pocket on the from that was edged with bright green - it looked really tacky. But with very careful unpicking - I took it off.

I cut the letters out of felt and glued them on with PVA glue and added a tiny red button on each one

The final touches were made by gluing a clear flat backed gem on each of the the curls on his beard and covering over the printed eyes with small circle of black felt.

I've seen a lot plain stockings in the Pound and 99p shops at the moment, I am planning on buying a few more to "do up" in different ways.
