  • I have resisted posting on here since I decided that TeleTech was not for me but having been frustrated further by my reflections on the issues that I had with them, I felt that in view of providing a balanced discussion, I would let people know the issues that I personally had.

Prior to training, I found the communication fairly inconsistent and whilst my recruiter provided me with no issues, there was always the "you need to ask someone else" line when you tried to pin them down for a straight answer. This was particularly the case with shifts. I did not discuss specific hours with my recruiter, yet I was made to feel like I had lied when I questioned the trainer when I would be given the shifts that I had discussed.

The second issue was that in training, the material being used is very out of date and there was always bolt on things to remember and to ignore as the systems had changed from the material being used. You do not appreciate the full impact until they put you live with real customers.

Through training, I found the trainer highly unorganised, would be completely unprofessional and as a result, we would be sat there for long periods listening to people sing and then feel rushed when he had sorted himself out. People were often being left behind in training because there was not time to resolve the issues some trainees were having.

You are expected to do assessments and courses through the TT university and don't worry if you fail because the trainer will manipulate the data and ensure that you look to be ready for the job. Out of a group of 15 people, I was the only person to pass the final assessment first time and yet no one was sacked as threatened because of the manipulation that was going on. These tests are there to confirm your understanding of what you were doing and whilst they did not really do this (there was no physical test of using the live system, just that you had read the fluffy stuff about working from home), it was made worse that people were being fudged through this.

When we got to the stage of being able to play with the live systems (all you have seen upto this point is a screen recorded example - which will only let you click on the right buttons and not make mistakes) you are let loose with live customers and you end up either cutting them off or they hang up because it takes so long.

On the day prior to going live, we were advised our shifts and most of the group seemed to concur with my view in terms of that there had been little consideration from what was discussed with the recruiter. The trainer did at first try the "go back to your recruiter" line until more people kicked off with them.

Our trainer also gave the impression that you were not allowed toilet breaks and because you worked from home, certain laws did not apply to you - which was a joke to say the least.

On the day we went live, I felt as though I was not ready and when raising my concerns with the trainer, I was told to get back on the phone. I said that I would not let the customers suffer for this, so it was at this stage I realised that this company may not be for me as they are only interested in getting you out into the field - ready or not.

I asked if I could take more time to look at the live system and get comfortable and/or possibly pick up with the next group when my shifts had been sorted as I had no faith in what was being said and I was told that I could not so it was either their way or the highway.

Normally when a company puts you through an induction/training course like this, it is the opportunity to ensure that your selection process has got you the right kind of candidates. This course did not seem to be for this purpose, it just was a case of "you have to do it to prove to the client that you have done it".

If you are considering applying here, be aware that you may not get the support you need and the issues that I have mentioned are serious ones and if you hate dealing with call centre people that are unhelpful or ill equipped then you may want to consider strongly what you are doing as it is likely that you will become one of these people.

Yes exactly the same. Follow the instructions I made in my post at 12:22am...

You know since I've been using poota's thats one of the first things I usually do when having problems with internet stuff ... clear data etc .... but I just didn't think of it this time, duh!

So, after doing that I got a bit further this time ... I got to the stage where it said my isp was ok, and I filled in the address information to receive the CD, however, when I clicked on submit it took me back to the download the analyzer page ...

That doesn't seem correct, does it??

Unless it is and my info is on the way to them, and I just have to wait for the CD, and go complete the assessment?

Blimey, this stuff is long winded!;)

    Well done Jo .

I am still really confused as what to do regarding my application and the shift times. Do I take a risk and hope that I can get scheduled in for 6pm more than 4pm. I am due a call back from the recruiter this afternoon and don't know what to do. i did really want the job.

Id take the risk submit your hours but say you would prefer a later start as not everybody will want these. Some people will want to get finished by 8pm.

Thanks again Jo. Would you happen to know roughly how many calls we would be expected to take an hour for the sales role? How many calls are you guys taking for the Customer Service roles? Just trying to get a feel of how busy it would be.
