  • Well, I've been given the assessment to do, great!

But, I can't get it to work properly, I dont think...:o

I click on the link in the email to go to the assessment page, and it asks me to download the bit of software .. once this has download I run it, and wait a second then a screen pops up with all the information on my poota and then has a button that says post information ... which I click, and it asks me for my ID, name and email address ... which I've put in ... but then it takes me back to the download screen and starts over again.

I'm not a novice when it comes to poota's or t'internet ... but nothing I've tried seems to be working

    Anyone else experienced this?
  • Ahwell, doesn't look like I'll be working for teletech then ... just realised they don't support my ethernet card!

And I'm certainly not changing that just for a job .... geez!

Been looking through some of their hardware requirements ... seems a bit picky tbh .... they ask alot really ..... tried a few other @home type jobs over the net and they weren't as complicated to set up .... nor did they require me to change any of my pc set up ... pay was similar and the type of work was too

    Ohwell ... onto something else

Erm it runs off a linux CD therefor cannot support 100% of hardware out there, the linux cd boots you into a VPN system that then connects you to your tools etc. If your hardware does not fully function with the version of linux in use then that is not teletechs fault and more to do with the available drivers etc for linux.
  • Still no responce to confirm if I'm on this evenings session. I just pray they send me the link.

If your Ethernet card is not supported why not
just get a USB - to Ethernet adaptor you can
buy them for less than £20, and there just plug
    and play

Spose I could .... but I'm in the middle of nowhere and it's a 40 mile round trip to the nearest stockist of PC bits ... but I could order it online maybe ... I'll have to think about it ... it just seems weird that I have to pay for stuff to work for someone thats all.

Suppose another way of looking at it is that you'd pay petrol, fares, parking etc "to work for someone" in a non work from home job-so buying an adaptor falls into the same kind of catagory. Probably a lot cheaper in the long run too than travelling expenses. I never buy PC bits from a shop nowdays-always cheaper and easier online anyway.

Yes exactly the same. Follow the instructions I made in my post at 12:22am...
  • Hmm ... never thought of it that way ... now I think about it, if I did take into account the travelling fees n rest of it, it would be cheaper...

    thks 4 the advice!:D

Off to check that post @ 12:22am .... what were you doing up at the time of night, let alone on the forum?:p
