Anyone know how the new signatures actually work or successfully revised one?

I just changed mine and it seems to have worked ok.
Please don't go Jacks - in the great scheme of things it's really not that important. Don't make us miss out on your humour and cheerleading skills.Mortgage OP 2026 £640/2000Mortgage balance: £32,222

Nope it keeps telling me I can only have five lines and to cut back but my sig is only four lines anyway.

Try getting rid of all blank space at the end of lines and any blank lines. After that, try praying to the Great God "Givover" - for all the good it will do..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Jacks (and please correct me if I'm wrong) main gripe is that her signature seems to have been inexplicably deleted. Possibly just a coincidence that it happened on the day she expressed dissent about the new signature rules but I don't think you need to be a conspiracy theorist to find this just a little odd - and totally out of order
In that case then jacks needs to email a board guide and ask why her sig was deleated when it never contained any links. Her sig/sig space is not lost forever she can still use it as long as it is within the new rules.0 -

Because having lied in the sig itself, they'll suddenly tell the truth?postingalwaysposting wrote: »Her sig/sig space is not lost forever she can still use it as long as it is within the new rules.
But in a different way to how the old one was within the rules?"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

That's true PAP she can of course put in a new sig, but I can appreciate why she's narked and is making a stand.
The signature rules have apparantly be brought in because of a lot of complaints. Perhaps the process for deleting sigs should also be changed because looking around the forum there seems to be a fair few complaints about how this is handled. There appears to be a general lack of courtesy in all aspects of life nowadays.1st April 2008 challenge:mad: xmas overspend = [strike]£254.05[/strike] £0:j......cc1 = [strike]£240.78[/strike] £0:j .......cc2 = [strike]£667.47[/strike] £0 :j ...amount owed to ISA = [strike]£1599.90[/strike] £0:jTOTAL TO GO = [strike]£2762.20[/strike] £0 !!! DONE IT DONE IT DONE IT!!!:dance:0 -
well this obviously isnt going anywhere so i guess this is where i leave you too it? i refuse to be the person you complain to just because i see no 'problem' with this.0

Several points to clarify, first a Board Guide has nothing to do with the deleting of sigs nor has any knowledge of why a sig might have been deleted, they are not party to decisions made by the abuse team.
I have, however, already emailed abuse regarding this whole situation this morning as I think what has happened was a mistake, pure and simple, no conspiracy, no dishonesty, no-one being mean and all the other accusations that have been levelled at Martin and his team so far.
I personally reported Jacks post on the thread last night to say that I thought they had read Martin's post wrongly...

Ok, thanks for replying Martin, I'll leave my sig as it is until such times as I can update it then.
What Martin is saying is lets see how it goes as the impact will be limited, I thought Jacks took that to mean that it will be changed back and/or it would be changed only for people with several challenges in their signatures so I asked abuse to clarify with the user.
I assume, and if its my fault then I apologise, that FT3 made a mistake and removed the signature and I'm quite sure that Forum Manager will sort this out as soon as possible. However, mistake or not, no-one deserves the level of nasty remarks that have been made about Martin and his team on this thread.
Long signatures have long been a problem and it is nothing to do with debt, there are plenty of long signatures showing weekly weight loss or weekly shopping budgets, and the decision to reduce the size of signatures has not been taken lightly and with a good deal of discussion by the team.
I hope this goes some way to helping address some of the issues in this thread.
