ROYAL NATIONAL LIFEBOAT INSTITUTE
(Howabout having land (??), sea (RNLI) and air (Air ambulance) !0 -
1.) Jigsaw4u
2.) https://www.jigsaw4u.org.uk
3.)A fantastic charity which provides Grief Support to Bereaved Families
4.)Jigsaw4u provides a essential grief support service to Familes and Children who have experienced the death of a parent, carer, close friend, sibling or other close relative.
This fantastic Grief Support Service is unique in the fact that it provides a free service for the whole family. Jigsaw4u provide 7 weekly support groups and a grief support weekend within which children and adults get the opportunity to meet other bereaved families in a similar situation as themselves. We have trained volunteers who help children with activities and are someone else children outside the family can talk to.
The children make memory boxes and many different activities which help them express their feelings and celebrate the life of the person they have lost.
The feedback from these groups is so positive, an example is that one child aged 9 said of his father "You're never forget them-even when you're old". "You feel so alone and different it is good to meet other children who understand."
I ask you please vote for Jigsaw4u it is truly so vital and such a important service.0 -
TO HELP RENAL PATIENTS GET A BETTER LIFE
I would like to nominate the NKPA who were formed purely to help renal patients obtain a better standard of life and one of the things they find very hard to get is a well deserved holiday and temporary resbite for their carers because of their relentless treatment and hospitalization so the NKPA needs extra funding to help with the purchase of a couple of caravans to be sited on the south coast adjacent to a dialysis unit so the dialysis patients can get their life prolonging treatment whilst they have a well deserved holiday. I think this charity is a must so I have donated most of my working time to help them to raise funds and give practical help
I have restricted this request to be added to your charity list because the lack of space but I do hope it makes sense.
Thanks,

The Aplastic Anaemia Trust
https://www.TheAAT.org.uk
Bringing Blood to Life
Aplastic anaemia is a rare, life threatening form of bone marrow failure. Although it is a relatively unheard of disease, it is as common as some types of leukaemia and just as devastating. Although the disease can strike at any age it is particularly severe in children - I know as my daughter was just 3 when she was diagnosed. Treatment includes a bone marrow transplant for the minority of patients who have a suitable donor and prolonged, difficult treatment for the majority.
The Aplastic Anaemia Trust was set up in 1985 by relatives and friends of victims of aplastic anaemia. With their help, a specialised unit was set up at St George's Hospital in London which is now the Centre of Excellence for the treatment of aplastic anaemia in the UK. The AAT also funds research into the disease and offers support and information to those affected.
The work of The AAT has made a profound difference to many lives. Thirty years ago only 10% of patients survived. Today the success rate is 70%.
Because aplastic anaemia is so rare, the charity does not attract the same interest and support as some major charities.
PLEASE VOTE FOR THE AAT AND HELP BRING BLOOD TO LIFE!0 -

1.MERGE
2.https://www.meresearch.org.uk
3.Funds research and education into M.E./ Chronic Fatigue syndrome
4.There is no Gov't funding into research for the causes of this debilitating neurological illness which has around 250.000 suffererers in the UK some of them children as young as 5. The illness has a huge impact on the lives of families and carers but they have little or no support. The cause of the illness is still unknown and therefore no cure or effective treatment has yet been found. It is important to find a cause for this illness and give sufferers back some semblance of a normal life which for some has not been the case for 20 years or more. MERGE is a dedicated group of doctors and scientists, some of them sufferers themselves, who are determined to discover the cause of ME, under very difficult financial circumstances.
Please vote for MERGE and give us back our lives0 -
Fibromyalgia Support N. Ireland or FMSNI for short.
Website of the Charity: http://www.fmsni.org.uk
Supporting those with fibromyalgia, their relatives and carers.
Fibromyalgia is a chronic rheumatic pain syndrome, with symptoms of widespread soft-tissue pain, coupled with a sleep disorder and numerous other problems, all of which are hidden, thus sufferers tend to have a very hard time both persuading others of their illness, and then getting a diagnosis. Affecting up to 3% of the population and with a rapid increase in the numbers being diagnosed, it is fast overtaking some of the other better known rheumatic conditions in rheumatology clinics worldwide. It is currently only treated with painkillers which rarely work enough to provide the sufferer with complete pain relief, so most live with an "acceptable" level of pain.
FMSNI was set up in 1995 in response to the founder's own diagnosis, and has remained a small, home-run, but vital charity providing much needed support through a daily Helpline, Quarterly meetings and Newsletter, regional groups and a thriving website/forum. Most sufferers are young and many will lose their jobs through the condition, and their relationships with family/friends suffer too. All of those who volunteer to help have FMS and struggle with their own illness while trying to help others. We get no corporate funding or sponsorship in any form, and rely totally on membership income and donations, so are constantly struggling to bring in enough to enable us to further our vision in this work. Even a small donation would make a huge difference to an organisation like ours, and really appreciate you providing the facility here for us to 'apply' to. THANKS :A0 -
1. BACCUP (Belarussian Aid for Children, Cardiff Undergraduate Programme)
2. http://www.baccup.org.uk
3. Compassion for children who have been "thrown away"
4. This is a charity set up and run by students at Cardiff University. BACCUP’s main activity is to send students to a children's orphanage near Minsk, the capital city of Belarus. Currently around 75 volunteers (all Medical, Dental, Nursing, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy students) are sent to the orphanage in groups. Whilst in the orphanage, the volunteers assist with care for the children, play and take them out on trips. The carer’s are unable to do this without us and tend to work 24 hour shifts. The orphanage known as 'Novinki' houses around 200 disabled children. The children are not necessarily orphans; their parents cannot afford to look after them in their own homes. This said, few of the children see the rest of their families. Societal views of disability in Belarus are very different to those in the UK. BACCUP carries out all of its own fundraising.

Perthes Association
www.perthes.org.uk
Support and equipment-loan to perthes-affected families.
Perthes Disease is a potentially crippling disease of the hip which affects children between the ages of 2 to 15 years of age, often they are immobilised in various orthopaedic appliances for up to 2 years. Often surgery is required. The Association gives advice on practical and financial help available to a family with an Perthe's child. This support is not limited. Fund raising events have enabled the association to buy items such as buggies, wheelchairs and moveable seats for loan. They also have bought almost 100 hand-propelled trikes, which are invaluable in giving the children some of their independence back and enabling them to play with their friends and siblings.0 -
1. NACC (National Association of Colitis and Crohns)
2. https://www.nacc.org.uk
3. Providing support, information and funding research into Colitis and Crohns disease
4. NACC provides support, advice and information for sufferers of colitis and crohns disease, as well as funding research into finding a cure (as no such thing currently exists) and raising awareness of the devastating effect these diseases can have on sufferers lives. They also provide a welfare fund for people in financial difficulty as a result of these illnesses.
Colitis and Crohns disease are inflammatory bowel diseases which affect up to 180,000 people in the UK, causing a wide range of symptoms such as severe diarrhoea, constipation, chronic pain, nutritional deficiencies, weight loss, exhaustion and osteporosis amongst others.
I have been suffering from this debillitating disease for nearly ten years, and have been unable to work for that same period, and NACC have been an invaluable source of support and information, as they are to thousands of people across the country.
(Even if NACC aren't picked as one of the chosen charities, at least this post will have been read and will have helped raise awareness at least a little)0
