our bit is pretty quiet yes and we haven't had any trouble, I think it does vary from road to road. we are near glastonbury first school, and 5 mins from denbeigh school and the local shops, which are a netto, chemist/post office, newsagent, charity shop, estate agent, bookies, fish and chip shop, off licence and chinese. there are a lot of little play areas for kids and my son goes to the local preschool which is really nice. my husband walks to the city to work and it takes him 40 minutes. there is a harvester just on watling street, a hotel/pub, a cavery type pub and a leisure centre and pub all within 5 mins of us.MFIT No. 810

I went to Tesco's in Kingston yesterday and decided to fill up with petrol and use my 3p off per litre voucher, however Tesco's in Kingston do not accept the vouchers which are issued at Wolverton or Bletchley. The assistant said they are not taking part in the offer! It does actually say this on the voucher, but its a bit late when you have already put you petrol in the car!
Also the ladies were not giving out the Computer Vouchers unless you specifically asked for them, as they were putting them in a box with a schools name written on the front, which I thought was a bit off!

I took a bundle of carrier bags into Asda today, to get my free 'bag for life' as advertised on the hoarding outside - and they've run out! They are issuing vouchers (which means you have to go back to the store to exchange them - very environment friendly - NOT!) and the vouchers run out on the 30th.
Not impressedPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
If anyone is considering getting a veg box delivered, I've just started using this company:
http://www.provenancefinefoods.co.uk/
They'll deliver for free within a 10 mile radius of Woburn - and judging from their website this covers most of MK.
The veg is lovely and fresh and I think it's really good value compared to other boxes I've had in the past.
If you happen to work at the OU then they'll deliver the boxes to you there at around 12.30 on a Friday.

Can anyone recommend a good cleaning co who will do an end of tenancy clean in MK? I need someone good as we have horrid letting agents (Northwood - beware!) who will be difficult! Thanks in advance guys.
Also, we have loads of stuff to get rid of - including a dining table and 4 chairs. If anyone wants these for free and can pick them up, just PM me. If you can also recommend a local charity shop that I can drop all our unwanted clothes and bric a brac off at, I'd be v grateful!0 -
If you contact Age Concern they will take everything off your hands and even collect the furniture. They have a warehouse I think in Stacey Bushes (can't really remember) and also a shop in Bletchley and they sell furniture from both.
There are local charity shops in both Shenley Church End centre and Westcroft Centre which support local charities - they'll take most things, but not the furniture.
Most Charity shops are in Stony Stratford High St including Willen Hospice (another local charity) and the usual Oxfam etc.0 -
Thats great - I'll call them!
Next question.....
Can anyone recommend a good carpet retailer who will fit a 3 bed house including laminate and vinyl? We have had one quote from Allied Carpets and want comparisons.
Thank you!!0 -

Years ago, we got a carpet from a small carpet company in Stacey Bushes. They weren't in the shops but in a unit further into the estate. The carpet we bought was a sample roll of the Jeff Banks, Ports of Call Designer range for about 7.99 sq mtr and the fitting was extra at about £40 by an idependant fitting. However we saw the same carpet in a high street carpet retailer at £17.99 Sq Mtr! I don't know the name of the company, they were called Ruffles once and also TXT, keep changing thier name for some reason, anyway someone did mention to me recently that they are still there apparently. Might be worth checking out!
