Think thats me officially done now, bag packed and everything.

Not got that far, haven't even bought things for me. Need a trip to boots. But seem to have lost my boots card AGAIN. Have gone through the website to order a new one. I know you can get your recepit validated with the points, but i always forget to get the points put on. Also have £10 voucher for boots from pigsback.com. So should be able to get most of it with that.

Have also been looking at my stash of baby stuff, thought i'd bought more wipes than i have, need to get to boots to get some of their own make, whilst on BOGOF before the baby event finishes, which i think is Monday.

Thanks efrieze - I plan to read them all together when I'm on ML

I like Roni Mae - very different

Well, this is my proposed plan of action - the calcium is supposed to be a pain reliever. EPO to help soften cervix, RLT is to help womb contract so quick second stage and to help contract back after birth. Arnica cream to apply to my lady bits afterwards to soothe them!

Calcium in weeks before labour 1,000mg a day
Calcium at onset of labour 2,000 mg

    EPO 1-2 500mg from week 34 to week 37
    3-4 500mg during week 38
Insert 1 capsule each night from week

RLT 1 cup from Week 32 to Week 33
    2 cups Week 34 to Week 35
    3 cups in Week 36
    4 cups in week 37 and 38
TOTAL = 6 boxes of 20 tea bags

Arnica Cream For application after birth

Total cost (excluding EPO as have that here) is £14.15
Don't be tempted by liquid calcium in H&B, they describe it as delicious - I'd describe it as vile!! I didn't even manage to swallow one spoonful

efrieze mentioned some homeopathic thing in her birth story, maybe worth finding out seing as you want to go before induced :)
Doubt i'd be able to drink the tea. Have problems drinking enough fluids as it is.

Don't really want to bring on Labour, still not decided on the elective section yet.
But hoping the RLT will help the Uterus contract back into shape after the baby is here. Though i have been told the afterpains are a killer, especially with your 2nd. Maybe RLT will make this worse. Don't remember afterpains after havin DS, but that maybe down to the pain of section cut, or because of the painkillers i was given anyway.
I used RLT it worked fabulously, my MWs were all astonished at how quickly my uterus shrank, after pains were painful but not as bad as some have described them, not sure if that is just my luck or if RLT made them less painful but they really weren't bad I did take paracetamol a few times but they were gone pretty quickly

I plan to try the RLT cold with ice as well as a hot tea - Sami suggested making a jug and keeping it cool. Said it was nicer this way.

PLUS - add Vimto!!! Think it was emlou that recommended this!

Just need to get my bank card and can place my order - makes it seem really close do all this prep!!!
I'm still having the odd cup of RLT from the fridge, tis yum! :D

    Morning all !

Not been on since Thurs ( I think)..Sorry longgg waffley post.

Congrats to Skinty and Efrieze ! Yay! Well done you two ! :T

My Lil lady due next Sunday ...scarey..Update on discussion with midwife re my fears on quick birth and.. having the baby at home, thanks for all that shared their thoughts etc and helped me with my worries. Midwife doing a sweep on Saturday if lil lady doesnt arrive by then, but she basically said oh if she comes so quickly just lift her on to your tummy, you'll be fine!!! I raised concerns over cord being around babies neck if i had to deliver alone and she told me she couldnt come out if the cord was around her neck...so do i feel better about it all? erm ...no lol

Has anyone had the midwife doing this to them.....

I lay on the floor at home, which was so uncomfortable and to see if the babys head was engaged , the MW put her hands on either side of the babys head, pressing down , she had me then fully sitting up and she sort of pushed her hands down the babys head into my pelvis, it was agony and i yelped. She confirmed that she was engaged , (the baby not the midwife , not sure of HER martial status! )... I have never had that done to me before and my 2nd , 3rd and 4th babies didnt even engaged until i was in labour.....anyway...lots of niggles, back ache and pressing down pains ever since then. Im sure she pushed the baby down into my pelvis and she wasnt meant to be there just yet. Just wondered if anyone had had their MW doing the same to them?

Lots of niggly pains this week... and I cant walk far at all , I dont think I'll last until next weekend.. I'm very slow and suddently got HU MONG ASSSE (Do they do big butt icons on here...? ) - need to nip in to Tesco later too , gawd knows how im going to do that.

Oh we bought a new car too ..yay! Collect it next weekend from Notts , a 2.5 hour drive away , so hopefully lil lady will be here by then so we can all go together for it. Its ma hooosive ! Audi 7 seater and gorgeous, cant wait to get it.

Cant wait for her to come now - so happy and excited!!

Anyway, I have been reading about you all, just not posting. Keep it going!!

    Take care,

    Suzanne

    Still here :)

Thanks everyone for sharing their preparations. It's interesting to see what others are doing. I'd forgotten to buy arnica tabs, must do that.

I had the weirdest dreams last night involving a guy I went to school with who's in prison for child p0rn. He broke the lock on my apartment door so I couldn't get out and told me he was going to kill me but first he wanted to sit down and rest. I tried to put the cat into my new changing bag so I could escape with him, but the damned cat wouldn't cooperate so I took a giant knife and killed the guy, then minced him in our (imaginary, but conveniently enormous) blender and put him in the freezer.

My radio interview's at 11am today and then at 1pm we're off for a traditional English Sunday lunch - which I am unbelievably excited about. I ordered us both roast beef and Yorkshire puddings, and couldn't decide on desserts so there'll be a treacle pudding and a jam roly poly to split with Husband if he behaves. Hurrah!

morning everyone! been on hols for a week and while it was lovely to get away, it's lovely to be home - more so as we went with 2 friends who have this strange coupley thing going on and were so soppy and touchy feely ALL the time, I wanted to slap them!!! OH felt the same too so at least it wasn't just my crazed hormones! Had lots of sleep yesterday after we got back so awake very early this morning and have done a load of washing already.

Bump is growing nicely and I am feeling movement throughout the day which is lovely as there was a day last week when I didn't feel anything at all which worried me sick, not least as I'd been out on a rather rougher than expected off road bike ride. We have 20 week scan tomorrow (at 21+5) with the lovely fetal medicine consultant we saw after the high combined test risk so not thinking about much else now. If that is OK then our little 1 bed flat is going on the market and househunting and baby prep begins. My bp is still under the 140/90 threshold bp consultant gave me week before last for calling the assessment unit and still not on meds so am pleased about that.

FIL's radio and chemotherapy going OK too - spoke to them yesterday and the first thing he asked was how his bump was! MIL popped in and restocked the fridge on Thursday which was very naughty but much appreciated - she is like that and while I was expecting (hoping!!) for a pint of milk, half of tesco's was a bit of a surprise!!!! Had a monumental slanging match with my mum just before we went away and she has texted a few times so I will call her after scan tomorrow.

And before I forget, congrats to Skinty!

    Morning all :D

Sorry I've not been around but being a mummy is very time consuming ;)

Update for those that were asking about FIL - He's still in hospital and they're still running tests to find out what's going on, but hopefully it's not as bad as everyone first thought.

Anyway, I'm going to make the move over to the parents thread although will probably still lurk here when time allows, but before I go a picture of my beautiful baby girl.
