Also why don't you try a Lloyds classic current account. They do tend to be more lenient than other banks when it comes to full current accounts, as their debit cards no longer comes with a cheque guarantee facility, so their is no huge risk in it for them. Also if you maintain the account well they do tend to upgrade your account and if you request and pass their internal score you can even get a CG card in matter of few months :T

    Hi

Lloyds Current Accounts do come with a Cheque Guarantee Card as standard, I opened one last month, and got a Cheque Card as standard, and I didn't have the option of requesting one. I wouldn't say they were relaxed when it came to upgrading either, they use the same methods adopted by other banks, infact I would say they were more tougher.

Well, I am on my third Debit Card with them in a month, due to upgrade of account, and being sent a chip and signature card, instead of chip and pin card, and can assure you that all three cards have and have had the cheque guarantee logo on the reverse, as standard. Lloyds TSB are not planning on phasing these cards out any time soon, as said in previous post, I didn't have to request one, it was sent as matter of course.
