Hi everyone sorry i haven't been on for awhile, as i failed the PAD challenge,.Just couldn't afford to actually pay pennies into any my accounts so had to leave it for a while.
Also reckoned in the past six months i have over £1000 of my debt :rotfl:so very pleased with myself.

Plus OH passed his driving test :j so well chuffed with that. means we can go camping whoo hoo!!
But on the other side of the coin look like i'm going to have raid my credit cards , overdrafts etc to pay for a car, tax + insurance.
Were in a situation were if my partner doesnt have a car he cant work and likewise.
Anyway totally off topic, will try again to pay some debts off in a couple of weeks time when hopefully i kind of have an idea of much more new debt i'll me in.

Sorry for whine, whing moan rant etc just feel really ill.

Have a good weekend all, will read back and catch up on the news and gossip.
    Bye all x

    Evening everyone,
Just got back from work again, trying to get as many extra hours as i can.
Had a bit of a disaster yesterday. OHs first phone bill for his new contract came, and for some reason it is 3 months worth of line rental?? Apparently OH knew this would happen but didnt think to warn me!! So had to pay the £200 bill using the CC. Very annoyed, but also relieved that i had enough credit on it to do that, so now got to spend the next few weeks trying to pay that back off.

    PAD is £5 to HSBC

    Hi folks

    £5 for PAD today.

Panambi - Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. Hope you are both well.

Angelic - Its so difficult when they go overdue as you are thinking every morning that that is going to be the day. My DS was 3 weeks late and I thought he was staying there til he was 18 lol. Looking forward to hearing your news soon.

Purplejellyfish and Lemma - congratulations on your wieght losses

Sashybo - Sorry to hear about the car. £500 to fix is quite a lot is it lots of things or one major thing??

Quiet day here today- caught up on some washing and ironing. Tried to go to the park with DS but got rained off after 20 minutes so ended up in McDonalds :p. Was very good just had a cheeseburger and small fries and then really wished I hadn't as I didn't enjoy it that much.

Have a good what's left of sunday . See ya tomorrow.

  • Had a day stuck in work so I managed to spend NOTHING !!!!!!!!

Putting some jeans in the wash bin I came across a stray 5p so that has gone into my singing pot of wonders . . .

I know that some people see this thread as kind of pointless (had a PM to that effect, cheeky begger) but to those who doubt the power of small payments let me tell you about our in-work fundraising . . . We ask all customers if they want to round their purchases up to the nearest pound & donate the odd pence to a childrens cancer charity - in just over a month from the odds & sods & the kind kind over payments we have raised over £155 for a very good cause.

Be it debt or charity every little bit really does add up & makes a real difference . . . .

Steps down off her soap box !

I am going to apologise in advance as I am about to have a bit of a rant and whinge as I need to get it out my system!
I have really tried to get myself and finances sorted over the past few months, know that it is going to take me a good couple of years to pay off debt but am ok with that. The other day I got a letter from horrible cc increasing APR by 9% (the most they are legally allowed to do I think). Called them and they won't change decision but will allow me to freeze account and continue to pay off at same rate. I have decided to do this as seems like the best plan, although a part of me is worried they might ask for the full outstanding balance quickly. Then I worked out that even though I had put all my spare cash into paying things off only 25% of it has reduced the debt balance, rest has gone straight to interest . Plus my bf has just tole me his financial situation, not good! I feel very downheartened at the moment, seems like all the effort isn't working.
    Anyway, rant over, sorry!

Hope you are all having a good day.
(but on a positive note have just put £3 in pot as an additional PaD)
Too ashamed to admit how much I owe!!

Hi everyone, my internet has been on the blink since Friday and I have been pulling my hair out. Also had some bad news about work I have been made surplus so everything is up in the air just now. I work for a local authority and it is unheard of to be made redundant but there is a first for everything!

    My PAD today is £13.01!

I have 3 days of posts to catch up on now!!!!!

I know that some people see this thread as kind of pointless (had a PM to that effect, cheeky begger)

Pointless? This thread has helped me to pay off my overdraft and my credit card, and I am now saving to pay off my loan. All in the last six months. I wouldn't have thought it was possible, but PAD has genuinely changed my attitude to money.

I had posted on here, done a SOA and was looking around at the different options, but this seemed simple and easy to start with. I have now paid off the debt as noted above and also do:

    • Weekly Spend Challenge (Spare money makes a PAD)
    • Grocery Challenge (Spare money makes a PAD!)
    • Started my own challenge to be Debt-Free By 30
This thread rocks, the people on it are supportive and wonderful and anyone who says it is pointless (pointless????) just hasn't had their PAD LBM :D

Yay for PAD, this thread rocks.

Sar - sorry to hear about your interest rates rising, how annoying!! But what i do when im feeling stressed about it all and feel like im getting nowhere is to just think of how much better off you are than you would be if you hadnt been doing the PAD!!!
