    Hi again

Just wanted to check, the smallest needles I have right now are 4mm - are these really too big to do IS hats? I know they're ok for buntings, but I have so many little odd balls that I thought I could get started on the hats. I'm meeting up with a fellow freecycler tomorrow - I had put a plea out for crochet hooks, and she has kindly offered me the one spare she has, but also said she has knitting needles for me too, don't know what sizes yet. I'm a bit of a nightowl though and wanted to get on with the hats NOW! Talk about knitting addiction  Mind you, it's better than the nicotine addiction I had before I started this :D

Oh my goodness - how busy have you all been?! I can hardly believe these totals! Thank you all so much for all your time and effort -you are all stars!

Chalky - thanks for spreading the word; we're rapidly becoming the World Wide Wooligans! Please thank all your ladies in Spain!

Maytaurus - thanks for all those links!

Well, I made 3 baby hats and 1 Aaron square last night and have started on some bootees. I also did a bit more to the crochet blanket I'm making for my expected grandchild. I did all that without falling asleep once! DH was amazed!

Shez - I just have to do faces on your teds and they'll be on their way back to you!

Well, here goes on the marathon update! Thank you all!

PLEASE NOTE: Thanks to everyone for such a good response to Chalky's appeal for the orphanage in Spain. Her SIL has arrived with all our items, and they have been delivered to the orphanage. Chalky has posted some great photos on page 27 of this thread. I think we will have made a big difference to a baby who arrived there with nothing; doesn't it make you feel good?!

LATEST UPDATE: Don't forget to let me know if I get these figures wrong - as some of you know, it's not difficult for me to make a complete hash of it!

Hi again! Here are the patterns for the Preemie bibs I made. I will email photos of them to Maytaurus who has kindly said she'll post them on here.

    KathyXX

    CROCHET PREEMIE BIBS

    Square Bib:

Make a foundation row of 13 chains
SC in second chain from hook, SC to end, turn
Row 2: 1 chain, SC in same stitch, SC to end.
Repeat Row 2 until work measures 3.5 inches from start.

Edging: can either be worked in the same colour wool or a contrast colour.

SC around three edges (not top edge).

Cords: Make a cord of approx 45 chains – around 8” OR add ribbons

    Rounded Bib:

Make a foundation row of 7 chains
SC in second chain from hook, SC to end, turn
Row 2: Ch 1, work 2 SC in same stitch, SC to end, turn
Repeat Row 2 until work is 12sts wide, turn
Row 3: 1 ch, 1 SC in same stitch, SC to end
Repeat row 3 until work measures 3/5” from start

Edging: can either be worked in the same colour or a contrast colour

Row 1: SC around three edges (not top edge), turn
Row 2: 1 ch, 1 SC in same stitch, (3 ch, slip stitch into next SC) to end. This gives a frilly edge.

Cords: Make a cord of approx 45 chains – around 8”, OR add ribbons
