did reindeer flannels this year and they looked fab.
Didn't have time for anything else.
Have done scrapbooks to death so this year am going to try - sock monkeys, make my own gift bags and tags, want to try the idea of fabric memory match cards, and some chabby chic signs.0 -
I've started searching out small inexpensive items to fill my two teenage daughters' advent calendars already (2 daughters x 25 presents each = I need to find ONE THING A WEEK ALL YEAR - aarrgh!)
I discovered a knitting pattern for the cutest flower corsage/brooch thing here :
http://www.knitonthenet.com/issue3/patterns/lydiaflowers/
I'm no great knitter, but this was v. easy and it took me less than an hour to make one (while watching telly last night) with some left over burgundy/gold-sparkly wool and a few beads sewn on. It's just the sort of thing my fashion-conscious-yet-shunning-mainstream-shops thing my girls will love, and it practically cost me nothing (I am feeling smug!!)0 -
You know you lot are fab, I love all these ideas.
My major problem is that I am not one for delayed gratification, if I make something I want to give it to the person instantly, having all my Christmas presents under the tree for days is a killer, I want people to have things NOW so I can see them open them. Is that just me? Not sure how to get around that in terms of forward planning things, if I made someone a Christmas gift now there is no way I would wait until then to give it to them and then I would have to make or buy something later... EepGod is good, all the time
Do something that scares you every day

I posted a couple of links, one for a scottie dog and one for a cat ( few posts up i think), I want to make a set of these each as drawer scents. What do I use for the stuffing to make them smell nice, or can i just soak the stuffing in watered down scents and let it dry before stuffing?
Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.
Ive added dried lavender in with stuffing and if it fades you can add drops of essential oil to it.:D0 -

I posted a link to making a scotty dog, here is my first attempt. It is filled with potpourri hence being a bit flimsy. Have also learnt the lesson to stick with felt or use a thicker material.
Apologies for the poor quality of the photo and the scotty dog lol
