Today I have tried the rice pudding for the first time and it turned out lovely, thick and creamy. Will definately cook this again as hubby and DD loved it.0

OOO, would you share your recipe please? What kind of rice do you use? I've only ever done savoury dishes in my slow cooker.
Also, since i am the only one in the house who likes rice pud, does anyone know if i could make it then freeze it if there is too much to eat on one go?Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

I used
pudding rice 125 grams
sugar 75 grams
1 1/2 litres milk
I boiled the milk first on the normal hob and then added the rice and brought it to the boil again and simmered for about 10 minutes. I then transfered it to the SC and added the sugar, grated some nutmeg over the top and cooked it on low for about 6 hours. There are some people on here that cook it straight in the SC, as this was my first time I did it this way. Not sure whether or not you could freeze it, hopefully someone can help us out. This made 4 very large portions.0 -

It sounds delish, but with the added benefit of being fairly simple. Thanks so much for sharing the recipe, i think i'll have a go at it in the weekGrocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Basically chopped turkey thigh, chopped onion (fried a bit), chopped mushrooms, a garni thingy and some chicken stock. Flour and milk to be added later to thicken the sauce.

I am hoping my new SC will arrive today. It's only been a few days but not having one has been a real pain.GC 2011 Feb £626.89/£450 NSD3/7 March £531.26/£450 April £495.99/£500 NSD 0/7 May £502.79/£500
