Snap. I detest shopping and avoid it like the plague. However I can tolerate it for a while on holiday.

Most trips to Vegas hubby has done all the shopping, but when we went in November 2007 I went a bit daft. I just seemed to see loads of things I liked which is very unusual for me and I must admit I really enjoyed it!

I'm not overstruck with the GO rooms-all fur coat and no knickers- I'd rather book deluxe and upgrade for $20 to a mini-suite for this trip as it's girls trip-different as a couple. But we all have different tastes.
We tipped to get an upgrade, got a mini suite, (they don't upgrade to Go rooms by tipping) then paid again to get out of it, didn't like it at all. I don't know but think most of them are in need of updating, ours did anyway. Anyway, I like the idea of a fur coat and no knickers.;)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I prefer teh outlet Malls in Las Vegas gets me every time I save a fortune but spend more than I ever usually would is that a saving ? :-0) http://vegasuncovered.wordpress.com/2008/08/04/shopping-in-las-vegas-%e2%80%93-outlet-mall%e2%80%99s/

I agree that those in Vegas are better (it's why I said the one in Primm was just OK - it has some good stores and worth a trip if you have another reason to go).
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

It's the larger spaces and the smaller number of people...that's what I think anyway...I am not a big shopper anyway, but give me a mall in the US vs a mall in the UK any day.

OK skype is free to install and to use www.skype.com its like a sort of MSN messenger, you dont need a handset, though you can buy them (I had no joy getting the USB one to work) you just need a headset with a micraphone. The standard level of skype will only allow you to call other Skype users and this is free.

How do you connect to another skype user? Do they give you a "number" or something?

it's kind of like instant messenger - if one of your contacts is online on skype you can see it and you can call them more or less by clicking on them and clicking call.

My in-laws use it to speak to my brother-in-law in Australia...it's been a great money-saver for both.

edit: --- i've just realised it was exactly the same as the one i've been banging on about in this very thread too!!! what an idiot i am! lmao

Thanks, NVH, really looking forward to it, the MD looks fantastic and we've got two nights there at a grand total of $174 for 4 of us, what a bargain.

In the link you quoted above you said you had stayed at the Luxor and in the pyramid, we are doing the same but wondered how good the rooms were and whether it was worth trying to get an upgrade - like you we wanted to stay in the pyramid as that is what we are going there for.

I love the Pyramid rooms sure they are nt quite the quality of the tower rooms but hey you can stay in a room like that anywhere. I like the fact that corridor is a open at eth Luxor and you can hear the casino floor as soon as you get out of your room and you are close to the casino where as the towers are a trek.
Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time

I can see no reason to stay at Luxor unless you ARE staying in the pyramid. Don't be put off by some people saying that the rooms are dark and need upgrading, they are still better than any 4* in this or many other countries.
