    It is all in the practice. The more you read other reviews, comment and write yourself the better you will get. There are very few new members who do not get SU's on their first reviews, I know I did. The VU's and crowns come with time for most of us. It sounds like you have he right attitude so good on you.
    I got a couple of SU's at the beginning, but looking back at them now, they were shocking, but I'd never written reviews before so wasn't sure what to expect. As you say practice makes perfect(ish!).
    Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:
  • hope someone can help me cause im a bit thick. have joined dooyoo but cant work out how to earn money and how to write a review can anyone explain how to use this site to me please many thanks

    You earn money by posting reviews and other people rating them for more info try here

    And here:

    Writing a review is simply a matter of finding a category you want to write in and clicking on the write review button. Make sure it is your opinion and you run it through a spellchecker, check for typos and you can't go too far wrong.

    There are other things but start from here and you will be okay. I would suggest reading some reviews first. Gives you an idea of how things work.

    First piece of advice, which I STRONGLY recommend you take is not to write anything at all...yet. If you're 'thick' (or just confused) read around the site. Go into the crowned review section here and read around to see what is considered an excellent review. Rate a few (fairly). Read and rate a whole bunch.

    Do all this before even thinking of writing a word. When you do get to writing, find a product or service you feel strongly about - a movie you loved? An insurance company you hate? A book that knocked your socks off? A children's toy your kids never touch? Do a search on Dooyoo to see if it's in the catalogue (it probably is). Now, write your review, but write it in Word or the WP program of your choice. Proofread it. Proofread it again. Are there capital letters in the correct places? Is your spelling accurate. Now re-read your review, and try to put yourself in the consumer's shoes - does it tell a potential user of the item or service what he or she needs to know to make an informed decision? Is there plenty of personal opinion? Is it all your own work?

    Now you can post your review. Once you've posted, go and read around the site some more. Have a rest - you deserve it. Don't write anything for a while - read around the site, and check your review from time to time for rates and comments. Are you getting mostly VUs with a smattering of other rates? Are you getting intelligent and inciteful comments? If so, congratulations, you've probably done it right.

    Did you get a load of SUs with a smattering of Us and VUs? Youv'e probably written a very short review with very little opinion - it's an easy trap for new folks to fall into. You've probably described the product, rather than reviewing it. Ask for feedback (not necessarily 'what am I missing', but more like 'can you help). Read the Dooyoo FAQs. Consider revising your review.

    Did you get a load of NUs? You've probably either copied directly from a source (i.e. Wiki), you've written utterly unintelligably, or committed some other form of abuse. You are now in danger of being kicked off Dooyoo, so be warned.

    Assuming you fall into the first category, you'll receive (in most sections, barring Archive and Speaker's Corner) 50p for posting the review and 1.5p for every member who reads it. If your review is exceptional, you'll receive an additional £1.50 when it's crowned.

    Good luck, and keep in mind (and I cannot say this enough) Dooyoo is a fun hobby that happens to pay pennies. It's not a viable source of a significant second income.

    Brilliant advice wish I done that before writing 20 reviews. Some of my reviews have been ok I think with VU but majority just Useful or below which isn't good. Going to do what you say have a good read tonight and just do reviews off other people work and hopefully pick up some useful information.
  • Just had one of my reviews locked. Which I expected. I took someone elses work and copied it. Someone mentioned this in the review comments. I then commented back admitting this and told Dooyoo to take my credits off me. They done this within 30 minutes. So this is just a little warning do not copy anything from anywhere because they know and you will lose the credits anyway. I have learnt the hard way. But I admitted to it and had my credits taken away just hoping they dont remove me from Dooyoo.

    Admitting it may be better than not but either way it's appalling that you felt you were entitled to be earning money from someone else's work in the first place!

    I've never understood that mentality.
    £2 Savers Club no.91 = ?? (unknown until full and counted)
    Review writing = £3.60 + $25.00
    Myhpf = £4.45
    STP = £1.82 v10.04
  • To be fair at least they admitted it. I have had my fair share of members blatantly deny recently that they had copied reviews even though I could source it in google. Everyone deserves a second chance IMO but it does show that copying will not be tolerated and you will be caught

    woo hold the fire. I never copied the whole lot. I took a part from the plot that was written from a website. I never copied the whole lot, I copied a paragraph giving the plot of the game. The review was my own and was my opinion.
  • If you are not removed, you are VERY lucky - you should be, in my opinion. You knew this was wrong before you got caught - you admitted it once you were caught.

    You were committing fraud, pure and simple.

    I did not copy the whole review I should state that now. I copied what the game was about from a website. Ie what the game is about like Tescos etc write.. The actual review of the game was my OWN. And if you are accussing me off fraud then I would look into this VERY seriously before you go about SLANDERING me on a public forum. I will now look into reporting you for slander I am very angry in your last comment. I can take critisim all day long but when someone accuses me of a criminal activity I take it VERY seriously.:mad:

    That makes no difference - copying what the game was about is the same thing as copying a review because you used someone else's words to, firstly, boost your word count and secondly, to say what the game was about instead of detailing it in your own words.

    Plagiarism is plagiarism, there isn't an "I only copied part of it!" clause.
