Bought the fabric today to cover journals for next christmas. They will be for each grandchild for mums to record in what their christmas was each year. Not done anything like this before but have some ideas just need to find the binders to make covers for. I want to ideally use 8" square ring binders so that more pages can be added but not having any luck yet but I reckon I have about 10 month to find the right books. I want ring binders rather than albums and I like the chipboard ones but not having any luck yet.

Don't think these are big enough for what you are wanting but is this the type of thing you are looking for... http://www.artymiss.co.uk/acatalog/Card_Making_Supplies_and_Craft_Supplies_info_PMA1022003.html

Thanks but unfortunately not quite right as I want a binder with a spine so that I can cover the album with a slip cover that I will make. Once again thanks for trying. I don't know enough about scrapbooking but wondered if I could buy a kit with a front and back that has a spine attached that you fasten together and they can be extended if needed, or am I living in my own little world:confused:

My mum was the same with me every present for nieces etc was handmade she was well impressed and kept asking how I found time to clean!!! cleaning is so important to her. I have my youngest still at home, 23, and she is a single mum and she is a full time mum whilst he is little so she is a great help around the house which helps to get things done quicker so more time to craft!:j

I also decorated some glass blocks with vinyl nativity on them, DH drilled a hole in them and I put battery powered lights through the hole, obviously switch on the outside! it took mum ages to comprehend that I didn't buy them. :rotfl:

  • Hello Everyone, (if you're still there?)

I can't believe how long I've been away from this thread, and I fear I am too late in thanking you all for the help, encouragement and commitment you've brought to crafty for Christmas 2008.

Although I've had a lot of in-law trouble the past few months, as well as computer failure, I did manage to get most of the crafty gifts on my list made.

I made the Liquorice Vodka (which wasn't that successful as ended up condensing a 35cl bottle in to two 5cl bottles  ).

Skittles Vodka, toffee Vodka (yum!), flannel Reindeer's, snowman soup, Christmas Labels, a baby hamper, a pamper hamper, a Liquorice hamper, a Port and cheese gift set and a few other gifts which I put onto silver cake boards.

I did take a few pics using my Dad's camera, but can't work out how to put them in this post?!

Anyway, congratulations and well done to everyone, your finished products were amazing.

Thanks again, hope you all had a fab Christmas!

    Best wishes for 2009,

    Magic x.
