Does any one think I should get in touch with trading standards?

You can try; but to do anything about it you'd probably need to go back and get a photo and/or liscence number of the trader so trading standards can know who to pursue or investigate. Probably you should put some of those bags in a ziplock bag and keep it in case TS need to do lab tests for evidence.

KwikSave bletchley is having a closing down sale and marking lots of stuff down. There are packs of xmas cards for 10p. Seems much of their own label products have the biggest reductions.

    Hi All,

I promised to come back with my Council MOT Experience and I admit as my whole MOT experience had me tearing my hair out, i thought i would wait.

ok, was 10 minutes late due to child issues (we all know that one right?) For which i was told he might not be able to do it. She went and checked and came back with "He can't do you now coz he's on his break and was running late anyway! By the way you owe us £36 for being late!"

Hmmmm....he's running late anyway but i have to pay a late fee?? I admit i burst into tears at this point as hubby had lost his job and money was scarily tight!! Luckily she waivered the fee at that point.....

Anyhoo, i re booked the appointment for the monday (it being friday) and went away steaming. Later that day i was phoned by a mechanic who apologised for me being sent away, would i like to take it in that afternoon or on the saturday morning at 8.30am. I took the saturday and felt a little better.

Bringing it back on the saturday to discover they are not normally open and were only there to complete over running jobs i felt really chuffed that they had done my MOT just for me. MOT starts and the car fails it's emmisions test so badly that they are supposed to abandon the test altogether. He however completed the test so we could figure out what else would fail or not. They also fixed a minor problem that i had no idea i had, for free!!

So, test completed, it failed miserably and for what looked like a huge amount money needed to fix it. He showed me exactly what was wrong and why he had failed it, explaining what the parts did if i didn't understand him!

However, my father in law took over at that point and put my car into his garage to get it fixed and MOTed so they never completed the whole thing.

I did get a follow up phone call about 20 days later telling me their computer was showing i hadn't taken it back, so Quite good customer service.

    So, here's the important stuff.....

They normally only do cabs and council vehicles and don't generally advertise that they are there, and were quite surprised I had found them on my own!

    Don't be late!!

MOT costs £40 and you have 14 days to retest after failure.

They do do repairs there, but not officially....

Overall they were really lovely and helpful and you can watch the whole thing through the window! Oh take some 20ps for the coffee machine, the hot chocolate is good!!

Hope this is all some help to you!!! sorry it's so long winded.....

    K xx

i'd say it's about 20-30 mins from aylesbury (depending on your speed, tome of day and post code to post code of travelling :)), lived in both and i'd say go and have a look at it :)

  • Old Farm Park is one of the nicer estates in Mk - it's in catchment for good schools in all age groups. I wouldn't have any hesitation in recommending it.
