    Hi Allie

She doesnt do balloons as well by any chance?

There's a fancy dress shop in Newport Pagnell that does balloons:

There are some lovely ideas but I think the prices might be a bit steep, wot do you think?

There's a party shop on the main shopping street in Bletchley that does that sort of thing - can't remember what its called.

Or if you want to DIY (or persuade a friend to) you can get the balloons off the internet, the balloon barrow in the centre MK hires out helium cylinders to blow them up with - they alos supply balloons, but they're not cheap.

Further to a mention of Arcana trainee discount haircuts, as indicated on the earlier version of this Milton-Keynes board, I am pleased to report to you my findings (all based on my humble opinion, of course) from my haircut excursion on the weekend:

I never before endeavored to have a haircut by a trainee, and was a bit nervous at first. But in the end was very pleased with the effort and the results.
Overall I would give the whole experience (and the haircut) a score of 8.5 out of 10. I probably would not opt for a trainee haircut if I was being asked to replace Martin on the telly on the same evening (but maybe I would if the appearance was on radio only) or if I was scheduled to pose with Simma for a new Avatar ; but for generally routine times it would be perfectly fine.

    Advantages:
    - Cheap price: 5 quid for a bloke's haircut of your choice
    - Surprisingly posh ambiance, for an MK salon
    - Very, very pleasant and good-looking employees (especially one that bears a stark resemblance to Davina Mcall, but is even prettier)! Cheerful atmosphere indeed, and plenty of eye candy :) (speaking as a polite gentleman, but of course).
    - They hang your coat up for you in the back and make you feel like a gentleman, even though you're only going to pay them a fiver.
    - Plenty of parking
    - Easy to arrange a suitable appointment time
    - Trainee is constantly supervised by very experienced professionals who undertake to guide, instruct, intervene... and correct as necessary

    Cautions:
    - Can take a long time. My basic clipper cut took just over a full hour to complete.
    - The trainees can be VERY new to the field (but this makes it all the more interesting... and potentially creative; and, they ARE closely supervised).
    - When you walk right out of the salon, it might not feel exactly like the pro haircuts to which you are accustomed ; but after a day or two at most it looks perfectly fine. It's that close to perfection.
    - Don't be alarmed if the trainee gets instructions and then replies to the effect of: "but how do I do that?" or "what?!"

    For a fiver, definately recommended!
