It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.

  • oooooooooooh, dear Linda.................

(do we get to see photos of you doing jumps etc on the other one?? :T :rotfl: )

Just had an email from my Mum to say it looks like my nannas house has been sold, it's a buy to let buyer who is speaking to her bank today. My Dad had to pay to buy the freehold which was a pain :( but it's freehold now. I think it was just going to be cleaned up with a quick fresh lick of paint and let the new owner replace the bathroom and put a fitted kitchen in. The house prices in Grimsby are tiny in comparison to here and my Mum said it went for less than it was up for (70k) but it means my Dad can retire in February from his milk round he's had for 35 years now. Good - he bloody deserves a rest.

Well done IA on the essay and well done Linda on the win! BB - the run down for the course looks fantastic, a great mixture of dishes.. have you heard anything back from that cookery show yet?

  • not yet red squirrel - it said on the form that if I hadn't heard within 2 months I wouldn't hear as they have a huge number of people applying. I'm guessing it's about a month since I applied.

I got my WTC letter today so tomorrow I can sign up for a cheap course at work. There's a card I can get which is £2.50 a year which gives me money off non-academic courses, cheap entry to swimming pools, leisure centres, crazy golf, the theatre/arts centre and apparently even a cheap beach hut in low season. I can get it where I am based - it needs a passport photo and the only one I have (which is fairly recent!!) has my eyes closed but I'm not paying £5 for a set of photos when I have one even if it does have my eyes closed!!! :rotfl: The chances are I will only ever use it on cheap courses at work and they obviously will recognise me with my eyes open as being me!!

I'm a bit miffed that I didn't realise I was entitled to WTC from April 08 - I thought savings were taken into account so never bothered. Seems they aren't and I've missed out on £500 since the beginning of the tax year but hey, at least i'm getting some now (£99 a month).

  • Hiya, I was about to order some furniture when I thought I'd better check to see if anyone could help me get a better deal. Is your voucher still available? I'm looking to buy some furniture from Argos and any saving would help. Thanks
