Transferred my £801 into the account the other day and just logged in to find it's there - excellent!

Set up a "Funds Transfer" from co-op for a few days time, and their system appended 00 to the end of the account number - so if I transferred to a/c no 12345678 when it was confirmed, they displayed it as 1234567800

Their help system says this is normal; it specifically said that two zeros will be shown on the end for transaction purposes - presumably they will strip them off before presenting the transfer to the recipient. I will await with breath suitably baited next week...

Can anyone with a co-op account (who isn't just blagging a ton :D) confirm if this is right?
Update - money arrived OK :T

  • Anyone have an idea how long the £800 has to stay in the account for?

It doesn't have to stay in the account at all. However, I think it's best to leave it in at least overnight so you have a closing balance =>£800 for at least one day in the month.

    Hello,

Just called them using number on OP and they wanted reference number otherwise I wouldn't get the £100 so off to my local branch!

    Hope that helps.
Green and minimal chemicals is the new black- I know a fair old bit about sustainability, specially energy and transport stuff. If I can help- please ask!

In the other 40-odd posts, no-one else's required a referenc number - seems like your local branch are still "confused"

Not too easy on the eyes, but I didn't see a code - just said open in branch (and I can confirm you can do that over the phone to the branch) and feed it with £800pm, to be paid £100 before December.

Is that right? I take the "before December" bit as just being 3 months after the last possible opening date - so open August, expect payout by November, etc.

Is there an in-credit interest rate with this account?

How do you go about applying in branch? Have people being going in asking to open "a current account" or specificially enquiring about "the offer of £100 for opening a current account"??

Phone the branch 01332294110. I made my application using this number and they knew about the £100 offer.

It's their "current account plus" that has the bonus attached.

I learned today that if you are currently unemployed, they don't bother doing the credit check, as apparently it will always fail for unemployed people - regardless of their credit rating, or volume of savings
