Donating car to charity.
Hi there everyone! This is my first time at posting on these threads so please be gentle! I've been looking at getting rid of my car, it's an MOT failure and been sat pretty much idle for a couple of months now. Anyway due to this nature and not expecting to get much for it I was looking at scrapping it and while on Google…

Sending Parcels for Charities
I've recently starting working at a local charity where my work includes sending a number of parcels of various shapes, sizes and weights, mainly for EBay. I had no idea how expensive sending parcels can be and was told that none of the big parcel delivery companies appear to make this available free of charge (do they not…

Afternoon tea fundraiser
Hi Hoping someone will give an opinion. I am involved in a small charity and we plan on holding an afternoon tea to raise some money. Ideally, I would love if we could have 10 tables of 6 attending, and in my dreams, each table would have a complete set of china crockery. However, being able to have 10 sets of complete…

Oven Donation
Hi all I have a two-year-old induction oven that I really would like to give to someone who needs it this christmas. I know that I can ask somewhere like the BHF to collect, but as much as I love the BHF and donate clothes to them regularly, I went into an appliance version of their charity shop recently and I must say…

(UK) I'd like to do care bags for homeless , how to go about?
I'd like to actively help homeless people. I wanted to do little bags with health & self care products and maybe some socks, a giftcard for food, some food that won't go off and easy to have plus a drinking water bottle. How should I go about doing this? I can't afford to do a lot of them (on my own) But i'd love to help

How much in the £????
Amazed to hear the miniscule amount that is actually given from Charitable use from each £ donated. Latest figures reveal that Age.uk give 5p most others averaging 19p. Seems the Charity aspect might need looking into. We seem to donating to keep names and management in work.

Retail Gift Aid
If you are a HR taxpayer and regularly give items to charity, you can claim HR rate tax relief on the sale value of those items. To be legal and acceptable by HMRC,you remain the owner of the goods until sold and agree to give the proceeds of sales to the charity at the point of sale, and the charity informs you of your…

Credit from Just Giving
Not sure where to post this, so hoping someone here can help! Was looking online at my bank account yesterday & have received a credit payment from Just Giving. I have no idea what this is about or how to find out as I certainly wasn't expecting it. My first instinct was that it is something to with a sponsorship which the…

Homeless food distribution
Hi all Would love a bit of direction and help, I would like to set up a small organisation / charity but I’m unsure which route to take. I’m hoping to distribute food to the homeless by setting up a soup kitchen however we would require funding / fundraisers solely to purchase the food. Print fliers and other awareness…

Charity vouchers
I'm thinking of giving charity vouchers as Christmas presents. I've come across a website called charityvouchers.org that says I can buy vouchers and the recipient specifies which charity gets the donation. I can't find anything online to confirm that this is reputable organisation. Does anyone out there have experience of…

How to manage a charity credit card
Hi Our small charity will need a credit card to buy routine requirements such as web hosting etc. When we write cheques they must be signed by two trustees. So how can we have similar oversight control of credit card spending ? Any advice much appreciated.

Not for profit fundraising online service recommendations
i work for a charity and I wondered if anyone could recommend a not for profit fundraising online service we could receive donations through. BTMyDonate looks good, are there any others, is there a site which compares them side by side? The big ones - Just Giving, Virgin, Charity Checkout are expensive. Many thanks

Online charity donations
I will be joining 100 others in a charity firewalk in November. The charity is a ‘[FONT="]not for profit CIC’ and I believe this means they can’t register for GiftAid.
