Donating car to charity.

Hi there everyone! This is my first time at posting on these threads so please be gentle!
I've been looking at getting rid of my car, it's an MOT failure and been sat pretty much idle for a couple of months now.
Anyway due to this nature and not expecting to get much for it I was looking at scrapping it and while on Google looking for local scrap yards I noticed a couple of sites, charitycar.co.uk and giveacar.co.uk
Apparently they will come and collect the car from you and decide whether or not its worth selling at auction or best scrapping it and the money they make goes to your chosen selected charity (the ones listed on their site)
Has anyone had any experience with doing it this way? Are they legit enough and can I trust they are doing the right thing as they say they are?
Thanks in advance.

Here's a charity which has benefited from the scheme -
https://www.myaware.org/giveacar - so it's worked for them.0 -
I think the Fire Brigade welcome non-running cars for training purposes.0

Thanks, car actually runs fine. Just a few easy fix repairs that need doing really.
Unfortunately I don't have the time or money to spend on it, at least if I donate it then there's a chance someone will get some good use out of it rather than sending it off to the great scrap yard in the sky.0
