Severn Trent: Direct Debit increased to 2200 pounds per month.... !
I reported a broken water meter to Severn Trent in April of this year, which they came around and fixed quite promptly. Meanwhile, I had been paying monthly…

disruption to water supplies - compensation
My local water board is doing maintenance work on the pipes and there is likely to be disruption to water supplies during this. I have an idea from somewhere that they have to pay £10 per day for compensation if the supply gets disrupted - but have googled around and cant find anything. Does anyone know the answer?

I went to U Switch a while ago and filled in the information to switch to a water meter. Nothing happened, no response from U Switch or Anglian Water. In the end I applied through Anglian Water's website, and things are moving. They are coming to do a survey next week. Here's hoping for cheap water bills soon.

Our house was built 12 years ago, and despite contacting the water board then, we never received a bill. 12 years has passed, and someone knocked on our door today to say that they don't have a record of us being here, despite people from the water company having previously visited us to check the quality of the water,…

Reclaim for overestimated bills?
I had a meter put in 5 months ago and have found that I am using far less than Yorkshire Water were estimating my use at. I am only using 2 units a month at ten pounds (including fixed charges) rather than £30 that they estimated it at. So for eight years previously I have been overcharged by £20 a month which at current…
