Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. Thank you for your understanding.Password

Forum just told me to change my password as it is over a year old.
For Petes sake there is nothing worth securing on this forum so why the ridiculous idea you should have to regularly change your password.
I thought that the whole point of MSE was to bring common sense into things instead of being idiotically bureaucratically stupid.

I had the same thing today. And thought much the same. And it wasn't easy either.., used same email address and it wouldn't permit me to because it was already used (what a surprise). And a major pain. I can understand on Amazon but here?0

Yep, I thought exactly the same thing. Better to whinge about it in the tech forum though0

I got told off for my password being 3915 days old. Which seemed a rather arbitrary policy to have.0

Multiple ironies associated with this:
It doesn't make your account more secure.
You can change your password to the same one
The change is made on an insecure form0 -
