I am writing a complaint letter to Virgin Atlantic, does anyone know where to start, i.e. who to write and which address. There are a couple of addresses on the website and I don't know where to start.

Be prepared for a long haul if you want compensation. your first email will get an automatic reply saying that it has been passed on and that you will receive a reply within 28 days. On the 28th day you will receive a reply basically telling you to take a hike. You will then reply saying that you do not agree and stating your point again. Another 28 days later you will either receive another reply telling you to take a hike or 10,000 miles placed into you FF account. If you want to go any further than that good luck.
I know you will have posts on here telling you that some people have had faster response, but believe me, those are the exception and not the rule. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
I complained to customer services and got the standard reply so I wrote directly to the CEO and didnt get a reply!!!!! . I gave up after that because I was winding myself up.0

I got the 10,000 miles and that was after paying for 2 first class seats to NY for our wedding anniversary. We were seated on opposite sides of the plane, among other rubbish service....
Save me from spending...

You couldn't have been in First class as Virgin Atlantic don't have First. You would have been in Business Class. Virgin have Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy.0 -

Actually, as we're in the correcting mode... they have "Upper"
To be honest I'm not sure what the problem is with being on opposite sides of the plane. The Upper class seats are so private that sitting next to each other wouldn't really be advantageous. If you want to spend time with your wife sit on the footstool. That's what I do...0 -
