Orlando Villa within walking distance of nightlife

Options
Apologies if this has been answered in other Orlando threads but I couldn't find it.

Where in Orlando Florida should I look for a Villa which has alot of restaurants, pubs and clubs nearby. Any search I do for a Villa in Orlando states how close they are to Disney, Sea World etc but not what is near the Villa for nights out etc.

Thanks

Villas are in residential areas, with very little nightlife usually within walking distance. If that is what you want you would be better with an I Drive hotel or a villa on a complex with such facilities.

Not sure what type of night life you want, but I don't think Orlando is a "Nite Life" place

must admit many, many years ago prior to our first visit to the sunshine state
I was put off/apprehensive about going thinking about the night life scene etc
this was because we where used to going to various Spanish resorts etc

however have got to say the first visit to Florida was amazing,so good we went back for the next 3 years then went to California, then back to Florida

we did "NOT" miss the night life scene one bit, you spend so much time in the theme parks you haven't got time for night life etc

there is plenty of shows/theme bars/attractions (night life style) to visit scattered all over Orlando

I have to agree that you are too tired for the nightlife. Most of the dinner shows are in kissimmee as are a lot of the villas. I came back this week. My villa was 6 miles down ponciana boulevard just off the main drag in kissimmee.

It was my first time in a villa, have stayed in motels before and although I liked the extra space, I missed being able to just pop across the road to a shop or just go for a wander for an hour at night.

There is always the city walk area in the universal studios park for a good night out but unless you get a taxi there and back (nearest point to stay would be top of international drive) you would have to drive and therefore can't drink.

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

No , it shut a while ago. I think it might be going to be reopened as a more family/ restauranty type place though ( i may be wrong!!)

There is still Citywalks at Universal tho.

Agree you aren't going to find much nightlife near a villa, would probably be better off in a hotel on i drive, but still then its nothing like you may be used to in resorts in spain, etc

Would go to florida everytime tho!

It has been years since I was there, is Church Street Station still going?
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
  • The Horror place? I think so. Friend of mine got so scared she punched the Freddy Krueger guy who came after her.

The poster earlier was right, the Villas are located in residential areas and you will really need a car/taxi to get you onto I-Drive where the restaurants etc are. Even when on Idrive you cant really walk up and down the "strip" like you can in Spain, etc. Universal Citywalk is fab for a night out. If you have your Universal pass you can get into the clubs and bars for free, there are lots of really good themed restaurants (Loved the HUGE Hard Rock Cafe). The Irish bar (name escapes me now) has two baby grand pianos in one room and local muscians come in and play requests for a dollar at a time and on a Saturday night it gets very lively, standing room only. There also a cinema and they have live music on outdoors. I was staying in the Pacific resort on Universal last time I went (no, I didnt pay!) and I was walking distance but you could always cab it back, or bribe someone to be designated driver.

Thanks for the help, are there any areas with villas within a couple of miles from Universal City Walk? If not, even within 5 miles? Thanks

No I don't think there is, everything is so spread out you can't really walk anywhere, unless on I Drive as others have said, and then you wouldn't cover the whole 'strip' isn't it about 5 mile long?

Few years since we went but there was a free bus going into certain hotels along I-Drive and ending up at Citywalk when we were there. Not sure if it still runs. They never checked if you were actually staying at the hotels it stopped at(not even sure that was a requirement to use it) we just wandered in from the hotel next door. Ran until a certain hour but at least that only means 1 taxi journey if you miss the last one back.
