Orlando Villa within walking distance of nightlife

  • Going by google maps, Bass Lake is north of Internaltional Airport and is the following distances away ...

Bass Lakes is definitely not north of the airport (no villas are). And, from the distances they give, I would think this is the Kissimmee Bass Lake Estates, not the Davenport Bass Lake.
    10miles from Airport
    10miles from Universal Studios
20miles from Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Park (east side of Disney World I think)
    15miles from Seaworld
15miles from the middlw of International drive

All reasonably accurate as the crow flies (apart from Typhoon Lagoon - can't imagine where they got 20 miles from - more like 7/8), but not so when you have to navigate via the local roads and traffic! Actually, SeaWorld and I-Drive are closer than Universal, too, so that 15 miles figure is also wrong!

But, ultimately, it is swings and roundabouts as regards location; there are pros and cons with all the different areas and it really depends what you are looking to get out of your holiday (e.g, mainly Disney/lots of shopping/eating out/as little driving as possible, etc).

Villas on Remington (off 192) fits the bill regarding distance to airport and parks but as another poster said most villas are on residential developments and restaurants not in walking distance. Their are several shops/restaurants short car ride away though.

PM me if you want further details.

Agreed, but there are villas for hire on the side of Bass Lake it would be so easy for the OP to mix them up if they don't know the area.

I'm afraid you will struggle to find a villa close to any of the parks, with the exception of a handful in Kissimmee which are close to Disney's southern border. The simple reason is only Osceola, Polk and Lake Counties allow short-term (i.e. for holiday purposes) rentals, and these counties are all to the south of Orabnge County (where Orlando and most of Disney is located). If you look for a villa in the Formosa Gardens area of Kissimmee or Old Lake Wilson Road, there are a number of neat communities only 5-10 mins from the southern edge of Disney property (which is 47 square miles, to put it in perspective!).

All the other parks are to the north of Disney, hence further from the villa areas. It will also be about 20-30 mins from the airport, but the driving is pretty easy here.

We stayed at Regal Palms and would highly recommend it (so much so were going back) its just off the 192 and just over the road from Bass Lakes.

It very handy as it has its own club house (so not to far to stagger if you have a few scoops  ) and theres a supermarket and several good restuarants nearby.

    We booked via www.florida-villa-townhouse.com

    Hope this helps

Turns out the Bass Lake villa I had looked at is actually near Lake Davenport. My assumption that is was near Bass Lake couldn't have been more wrong! Thanks for the help on this folks.

Right folks, I've narrowed it down to 2 areas.

1 - Lake Buena Vista (Beside Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores)
    2 - Indian Creek ( near
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]State Road 429, south of Disney World )

Anybody think one location is better than the other??

    Thanks

Both are great locations. Very close indeed to WDW, and easy access to I4 / ID for Universal/SW. If I had to pick one I'd say LBV but it would be a close run thing.
  • Rental prices of Orlando Villas have plummeted over the past couple of years due to many factors, including much fewer UK charter seats to Orlando, and the property bubble bursting....

I would recommend Lindfields as a good estate to rent a villa - it is really close to Disney and just off the 192, so plenty of restaurants. But then I am biased as my holiday home is there :D
