A relative needs to replace their 7-year old Adjustamatic mattress due to its deterioration and the danger of pressure sores etc. They have also heard that the Memory Foam mattresses/toppers are very good, but there are so many of them, it's hard to know which is the best one. Does anyone have any experience of them and can you use them on an Adjustamatic bed?
Out of interest, does anyone know how much they should be paying for a replacement Adjustamatic Kingsize mattress please? It would also be interesting to know how much they should have paid for the bed, I know it's a specialist market but I was amazed at how much they were charged! I can't seem to find an Adjustamatic price list, does one exist?

Not too sure about the Adjustamatic but I have been wanting a Tempur mattress for a while now, but can't afford it just yet.
My mother has recently purchased a memory foam mattress topper and she swears is impossible to tell the difference. Supposedly the toppers are less that half the price of the full mattress and are the impt part?
She doesn't live in the UK but here is a site selling the same type http://www.mattresstoppers.co.uk/
We are hoping to buy one in the New Year. Good luck. The smallest deed is greater than the grandest intention ~ Anonymous0 -
Claudie - Thanks for your reply . Could you just clarify whether your Mum thinks having the memory foam topper is better or worse than her normal mattress?
My relatives were thinking more about a complete mattress as the current mattress has developed hard ridges in it through continually rising and falling via the auto control. They looked at the Tempur mattresses but they are so expensive - are these suitable for automatic beds?
You say you're hoping to buy one in the New Year, have you made any decision about which particular one you want to buy and do you know of any good deals?0 -
My Mum has just the double topper on a regular double bed mattress and she can't praise it enough. We were in the Tempur shop last week when she was here for a visit and she said she couldn't tell any difference between the Tempur full mattress and her topper which is good enough for me....she did say that her hubby can actually get up from bed at night and she can't even feel him leave the bed (if that make sense).
I don't really know anything at all about the adjustable beds sorry....but you can get a topper with a cover which covers the mattress and topper together. The lady at Tempur did say that the first 2-3 inches of the foam is what does all the work though.
The website I saw for the toppers look about the same price as the toppers I saw advertised in Country Living magazine - it may be worth giving one of the topper places a call to ask? I know though that the Tempur toppers were quoted to me as roughly £700 for a King but the

same size are only £165.
I would be grateful if you let me know how they get on.The smallest deed is greater than the grandest intention ~ Anonymous0 -
Hi hope this helps….
I saw and advert in the daily mail 4 weeks ago for mattress topper – memory foam.
The prices were the cheapest I had seen as I was considering buying a bed full of the stuff but the cheapest I could find a king-size was £800-00.
So the advert read:
Single 1 inch £45.90 - £55.90 2 inch
Double 1 inch £69.90 - £79.90 2 inch
King 1inch £ 79.90 - £89.90 2 inch
P – P at £4.95 14/21 days to deliver / Guaranteed NO quibble 30 day home trial.
I ordered on there credit card hotline number 0207 231 5432 using my credit card just in case as I have never seen the advert before and did not know the company.
OK it arrived in 4 weeks in a black bin bag – And when it had chance to grow to its full size you could see cut marks like they just measured it off I roll…………
It’s the memory foam ok and my back the next day thought all its Christmas’s had come at once.
Cant believe it took me so long and my lesson learnt here is don’t spend 500-00 plus on a ikea mattress ,get a cheap one and get this foam stuff.Tell it as it should be....0 -
