Kaupthing Edge Login Problem.

Just a quick query.

Have just opened a Kaupthing Edge saving account and got my password sent today. I have just tried to log in - I enter my username and password successfully but then get to the page where you have to enter 3 letters from your memorable word. I enter these correctly and click log in but nothing happens. There is no sign of anything loading it's as the button is dead. I have tried it twice by going through the whole procedure again and the same thing happens.

This has really lowered my confidence in the bank which is annoying as I have all my fund waiting to transfer in an account with no interest!

Anyone else having these problems or am I just jinxed.

  • I'm sure you've covered this, but make sure that you've typed your memorable word in the correct upper / lower case... I had this problem the first time but it's been ok since

  • Yeah, I keep forgetting that the first letter of my memorable word is uppercase. Confused me a lot the first time I logged in.

  • Yea i've doubled and triple checked - they never ask me for the first letter so it can't be because I originally wrote is all lowercase or something. Also if I was typing the wrong letters in surely it would tell me - it wouldn't just act like I hadn't done anything. I have also tried in different browsers just in case that was causing the problem but the same thing happens.

    I was thinking it might be because I haven't actually transferred the £100 into the account so it might be officially 'open' but the person I spoke to on the phone didn't seem to know if that was why!?

    I am obviously reluctant to transfer the minimum £100 if I still won't be able to log in.
  • Ok, I've just tried logging in. After entering my username, I get a customer notice. I then enter my username and password, and get the customer notice again. Then it says invalid username or password. So it seems they are having technical problems at the moment. This wouldn't be the first time in the few months I've been with them. Other than that, they have been ok.

  • First letter of my secret word is a capital. Even though I did not set it up with a capital.
  • Interesting. I thought the same thing because I don't normally capitalize it, even though it should be. Then I thought I must have without realizing.

    It also might be a bit to do with a 'Three wrong strikes and you're out!" type of security measure????

    Actually, your first post sorta kinda tells me the web site had 'frozen up'. If it has, try clearing your cookies, particularly all of the Kaupthing ones, and then try going to the site and logging in again.
  • I don't have any experience with Kaupthing Edge as like I said I have only just opened the account (well am trying to!) but it does seem like they have a lot of problems, they seem to continually be rejigging their website and I have been pretty disappointed as I still can't log in after countless times.

    I am sure that most people have been very pleased with their service as it has been praised highly on here but I have serious doubts depositing any funds into the account now. Do you think I should quit while I'm ahead and try and find another account with a good rate of interest?
