New week new start, everything done has been cut from the list. Makes me feel better that it's shorter if nothing else.
I can not wait to be home again now. I feel like we've been in limbo for so long, and the works to the house take up so much of my time to organise. Little man is being raised by Dora the Explorer more than me at this point.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

To-do list looking very short. Well done! I'd say you are dying to get home again. How long has it been now? How long were ye in Disney? We loved it but I'd be in no rush to go back. It was exhausting, even over 4 nights!
How much extra does the extension add on to your debts? Are ye adding it on to the mortgage or taking out a loan? We have an extension in our house but the room needs to be re-jigged. Hoping to get it sorted in 2018 or 2019 but want to pay off our loan first. Debating whether to add it on to mortgage (we've a fair bit of equity in our house now) or get another loan.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

We've done it through saving for the last few months and credit cards, I don't like loans as they're secured and credit cards are 0% as well. We have around £120-£130k equity in the house but they won't let us extend the mortgage as I'm self employed and you need 3 years tax returns to work off to get a mortgage. It's not cheap and it is costing us around £12k, but it's adding around £40k to the house.
We've been out since early January
We were there 4 nights, in the park 3 days and 2 days travelling. We wouldn't rush back the way we did it either, flying would have been a lot easier as it was it was a real headache. Kids loved it though.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Mine loved it too but it was so tiring. We flew so had 4 full days in the parks which was good, as we flew back on day 5. I feel like we got to do everything we wanted but it's not my idea of a holiday
Great that ye can get the 0% on credit cards. The deals aren't for as long in Ireland (6 months) so not worth doing as too much shuffling around. I don't mind having the loan as we can overpay but it is tempting to re-mortgage. Can see us going for the loan though as would be nice to get it paid off in 1-2 years. £12k sounds quite reasonable. Think our re-configuration (with no extension added on) is likely to cost between €30-40,000.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

New class tonight, won't be home until after 10pm. Glad things are taking off and glad of the money but feel like I can hardly breathe I'm so busy at the moment. Sure it will be better in September when we're in our new house, little man is settled in school nursery, we're into a routine etc. The house is taking upwards of 20 hours a week at the moment. I usually read a few chapters of my book before bed at night, at the moment I literally read one page before my eyes are drooping. I go to book club every 6 weeks and haven't even started the book for this Friday, even though it's an author I love.
Really really want to get the DLA form completed today though as been working on it for weeks then I can get the 'someone who knows them' section completed hopefully tomorrow or Thursday. Renewal is due soon but only got the letters I need as supporting evidence over the weekend. Of course it seems like it's complete pot luck at the moment anyway.
Buildings notice in, expected it to be a similar cost to planning permission, not over £700!!!!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

On the plus side today we were approved for a grant for activities for little miss, and a grant for my registration fee for my yoga teacher training, so that's £1450 between them.
Little man keeps asking about his party, we had a really nice garden party for him last year, but he doesn't have enough friends to do a hall or soft play or anything (and we don't have the time or money right now) - hoping a really good cake with presents, my parents, brother and partner and NIMs uncle and the builder he brought with him might somehow be passed as a party. Will make it up to him next year!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Slipped on a wet floor in a bar on Saturday night, dented nothing but my pride, or so I thought, turns out I broke my phone screen when I landed, completely black (although not smashed?!) so will find out tomorrow how much that is going to cost to put rightDebt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I'm starting to stare at the same jobs over and over again, and not know where to start as none are straightforward/wildly taking priority on time.
House plods on. And on. And on. Builders have already extended their stay but have to go on Monday, it won't be finished by then. Just how much is left to do is up for debate but I'm seriously, seriously worried.

Maybe refund the Monday morning people before they start bothering you? I am sat in my sitting room and my whole house is a tip and I just couldn't be bothered tonight! I've been doing loads of overtime lately so just want a night off.
Is this the builders from Ireland that have to go back? Can any UK builders take over? Do you get a set amount of money from the insurance and then get your own builders?Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
