Growing again. Had high hopes for getting a lot done this week, but have ended up rushing about like a mad woman.
I may have spoken too soon on the 30 hours entitlement. Calling around a few nurseries you can only use the hours 12-3pm, the half hour pick up is £18!!! Not worth me working the extra hour if I have to pay out that.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Good news on the soa, that should give you a head start on the repayments.
That's crazy about the £18, don't make it easy do they.0 -
Best of luck with clearing the debt, Dinah! We move on Friday and are focused on clearing our debts (around £14k) and then to start work on the mortage (£125k) so I'm all in with you!
Finding it very hard to say no to things for Oscar, however. How strong is that Mum guilt?! I really (and I mean REALLY) want to get him a water table for the new garden, but we can make do with a washing up bowl and his bath toys. But I know I need to pull it in and stay on a strict budget to make things work. Found plenty of free things we can do in walking distance so I'm sure we can make it work0 -
So you have any local free pages on Facebook? We have a few round here and things like that come up pretty often xDebt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Don't have a Facebook account anymore, did a rage delete a couple months back!
Glorious morning here and we're... inside packing. Not like we can use our garden anyways because of red ants but is nice to think that next weekend we can play out a bit 👏🏻 Remembered last night the family who we're buying it from built a Wendy house with a slide so that'll entertain Oscar's appitete for danger for a while _pale__pale_0 -
Went to the fair yesterday and it was £1 a ride for first hour so said they could have two rides each . Then Poppy wanted to go on bungee which was £4 . Really must learn to say no...and I wonder where all my money goes.0

We had a very good weekend (for us). School friend's birthday yesterday and they very kindly had invited both of them, and it was at a multi activity type place (little farm, ponies, bouncing pillows, lots of different play areas, tractor rides, soft play, tyre slides etc) where after the party you could stay the 3 hours until closing, so stayed most of that (little man pooped his way through all 3 outfit changes I had with me...). Spent £8 on 2 drinks each and some biscuits and an apple for me as they had a party lunch and I didn't. My head is kicking myself I didn't take drinks and snacks though. Free day today at the beach, only there for about 90 minutes though as pretty windy. Had an inside picnic and movie afternoon as it had a) clouded over and b) I needed to keep them quiet for a bit so I could do some of my coursework assignments due in this week.
Made an utter balls up though. Went over for their technical dance rehearsal Saturday only to find it is next weekend. As is the big dance show. When I'm away with work. And NIM is reroofing the extension as one of the builders is coming back for 36 hours only. !!!!. So now I have to get out of my training very early to be able to see them in the show. And no idea how the builder is going to get to the airport at the same hour without having to knock off very early and basically being here for about 12 hours of work which is nowhere near enough. All the expletives.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Sounds like a lovely weekend. I really need to start taking drinks/snacks as i spend a lot of money on that too.
oh no about the dance show ! I hope you manage to sort out the mess.
I'm sure it was probably someone on here who recommended it in the first place but anyone who does surveys I have found prolific academic quite good recently. I only do about three sites now which are the ones i find best and the money is going in my Christmas fund.0 -
Will look into prolific academic, I'm trying to be open minded as the lay of the land has changed a lot since I was last properly committed to clearing the debt.
Have quit diet coke, saving around £5 a week. Unfortunately I'm now permanently shattered, can only hope I perk up once the caffeine is properly out of my system.
Mega hospital appointment for DD today, xray as well as two respiratory appointments. Upshot is lungs aren't great, but not awful, but they want to do a few more tests to check there isn't anything they're missing (sweat test to rule out CF, immune tests for allergies, a CT to check for bronchi scarring). Changes to meds too.
DLA have sent a letter confirming receipt of the application, we should have a decision by August 15th at the latest. Unfortunately this potentially means we'll spend a month without any DLA/carers (assuming her renewal is approved) so the next month our budget will be wildly out of whack.- Tidy bedroom

On the plus side, a friend has offered to have B the 5 mornings I'm struggling for in July, and I can pay her in yoga classes, so that's really helpful for me as I'd make a good loss to pay for more nursery days, but in September when he's in morning nursery I won't have childcare problems while I teach these classes. Still struggling for the Friday pick up in September though unless I can find either somewhere that will use the 15 hours more flexibly, or some afternoon work on a Friday (the phrase hens teeth springs to mind).
A couple more emails sent out touting for work, but at the moment I can't really expand the timetable until September due to the childcare issues.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Wow, fast decision on DLA - approved for another 2 years. Massive weight off my mind. Been up most of the night with her being sick, coughing, retching, know the lungs aren't in particularly bad shape because of yesterday's appointment either. The idea I'd have needed to find more daytime work, when she has several appointments a week and we're up half the nights was starting to worry me. Can finalise the SOA now too.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
