Does anyone have similar tips for visiting Disneyland Paris. I am taking family in July. Not sure if it's  ;D or  :-[[/quote]

I hope you see this before you go.
First go to W H Smiths to buy your copy of a brits guide to Disneyland Paris ( the best £7.99 you will spend on this subject) If you have time I am sure you could aquire it for less via the usual suppliers on the internet. This book will provide hours of inside information for you to read on the journey that will save ten times its cover price when you get there. I have been three times and only found this book the last time and wish I had been told about it sooner. (Now READ it).
Next if you are travelling take your car, driving in France is a pleasure and you will be amazed how easy it is to find Disneyland and if you stay at the Davy Crocket ranch it is (almost) reasonable. Phone or arrange to go direct, I have found the right brochure in travelcare (co-op's own travel agent, where you will get the same price as booking direct with disney but you will also get tesco clubcard points) You will however have to ask for it because they would rather you book in-direct. I opt for one of the packages, either a Ranch-Special or a 4 for the price of three package, if you ask which is best for you they will explain. For exaple the Ranch special includes 4 nights stay at the ranch, Three days in either park, free parking at the resort and park, and free breakfast.

When you buy lunch in resort, if you have kids or not, look for the "menu" in France you should allways look for "special" Menus, in the resort a menu Pluto for example might include a free ice cream or a menu mickey might work out cheaper than buying each part seperatley. The French buy food this way and accept it as normal but you would miss the point as a tourist, the childrens meals are the same size as the adults so you really can save by following this advice. Dont expect anything healthy though it really is junk food heaven, I don't think four days a year will hurt too much though.

Remember you are only there for a few days, deny yourself nothing while you are there. It cost you possibly a hundred quid a day just to be there, so dont be a skinflint for the sake of twenty quid or so for the four days you are there, for example when I last went I told my wife and both daughters that they could each choose any restaurant to dine in (in style) and we did, and whilst it hurt when I paid I am glad I did bacause my children still remember their restaurant and will for a lot longer than I will remember the bill.

Dont miss the swimming pool's in the hotels if you stay on site, the best swimming pool I am told is the one at the cheapest accomodation (Ranch Davy) We went every night. the girls LOVED it because it had a slide a whirl pool a rapid a beach area and water jets etc. We all slept like logs every night because we were sooo worn out at the end of each day. If you eat in the ranch look closley at the menu, if the meal you choose is served in a cast iron frying pan you can have as many chips or whatever as you can get in it !.

When you go to the park go to your favourite ride first, then use the fast-pass system if you look to the side of the enterance of each major ride you will find a ticket disspensor under a fast-pass sign that if you put your enterance ticket into it, it will then print a fast-pass ticket with a time later in the day with a half an hour validity period, if you reurn to the fast-pass queue within the period shown you will queue for almost no time at all. I am amazed that no one says anything to you when you walk straight to the front of the queue and get on the ride in front of the people that have waited an hour to do the same thing (aint life grand) it costs nothing and means you get double value so do it.

If you can go in the second week of september. The children in France are back at school the same as here, so check that your school will let you take a break then. the weather is great, the price is the lowest band of the year, and you have the place to yourself.

I hope you have a great holiday.
To anyone that tells you "There is no I in team" say no there isn't
But there ARE TWO I'S IN COMMISSION and I dont get paid "Team"
    ...........:D..........

we've been to disneyland paris twice, we like october. it's half term here so the headmaster at school doesn't get nasty about kids being taken out of school, but while everywhere else pute their prices up for the half term, in disneyland paris it's only mid season. and they hallowe'en all month :-)

we were once there on a saturday, it was horrendous, even worse than alton towers. don't do it!!

oh., and i just wanted to say that if you have kids of differing ages try drayton manor park, it's fab. there's a really good range of rides for small, medium and large kids, there's pirate theming in a lot of places and fab gift shop that little boys love (cheap too!) and the major rides are amazing!! the drop tower is the most terrifying thing i've ever been on, especially standing with no floor! my kids love the stormforce, a log flume with 3 drops, one of them is backwards and you get really soaked, it's quite a ride. they let my nephew on when he was 2 though, i had to keep firm hold of him!

anyway, drayton manor 3 for 2 tickets can be printed here: https://www.daysoutuk.com

    free kids to legoland: http://www.legoland.co.uk/kidsgofreeaug

    chessington 2 kids free: http://www.expressevents.com/chessington/

and the best one is the lastminute site at the moment, alton towers and thorpe park for £15, legoland for £10, etc. http://www.lastminute.com/lmn/pso/catalog/Category.jhtml;$sessionid$YM1ZWKAAAAEXECVIJ0ICHPQ?CATID=96782&sourceid=qIqiQN8dMRDJAm9ETd88&partnerId=651

Thorpe Park and Alton Towers have £10 discount off entry for adults/children for 1000 Nectar Points. But current Nectar brochure on page7 has cut-out coupon to take along together with Nectar voucher for a discount of £10 for 500 points 8)

365tickets.com always have offers on. i appreciate the note about small children being better off at legoland, but i think thorpe park is better. we have three children under 5 and they prefer to go there. its a much better park for the whole family. it's cheaper as well as under 4's are free. better than legoland!! also food there is cheaper!!
dont forget your swim suit either, as they have a swimming area great for the family. ;D
