Tui Flight cancellation

Ive been advised today that our flights in September to turkey, part of a package holiday have been cancelled and an alternative is offered 48 hours later. They have offered us £250 each as a good will gesture.Is this the best offer we can get, we have to take two additional days leave to cover the changes

TUI are another airline suffering from the 737 Max problems.

Have you checked that the flight days for that route have actually changed, and they've not just put you on a different flight?

You aren't entitled to compensation under EU261. You are entitled to cancel and get a full refund though if you don't want to accept the change. You could also ask them to re-route you on a different airline but it may not be a direct flight in that case. I think you'd find getting them to agree a bit of challenge though, or you could ask to change to a different holiday that has flight days acceptable to you.

£250 each is a generous goodwill gesture. They don't actually have to offer you more than £10 each if you accept a major change, as per the terms you agreed.
