These fines are just a business expense for the energy suppliers. It won't stop until the directors are prosecuted.

And the fine by Ofgem " £1.00" , which is outrageous when this is a repeat offender. EON are one of the most appalling companies in the energy sector and do not care about their customers, EON's failure to half the number of domestic customer complaints year on year is clear evidence of this. Check out their own website.

That's 3 times they have been wrapped over the knuckles by Ofgem and even now are still in breaching standard licence conditions and Ofgem allow this with complete impunity. Disgraceful.

Previous Ofgem findings against EON include:-

    a) £ 12 million Fine by Ofgem for mis selling over a 3 year period.

    b) £ 3 million fine by Ofgem for illegal sale of Low energy light bulbs , and now this latest £7.75 million.

When is Ofgem going to start revoking licences? Is this not the real cost of doing business in the UK.

Ofgem are not fit for purpose. It's the old boys club at work with £1.00 fines. This is a national disgrace.

    To all EON potential customers,
I should also add that customers should check out the number of EON customer complaints per year just for their domestic customers on EON's web site. It is shocking.

EON need to employ more customer service personal rather than customer services like they have done in previous years, but the problem is also Ofgem.

To all PR reps/ agents on this site and or EON reps,

EON where fined for repeat offences by Ofgem of £1.00 as per Ofgem announcement yesterday.

Your bile about me is just that bile. No serious attempts to justify because there is not one.

You do not attempt to justify such a low fine levied by Ofgem on a repeat offender(EON) , or are you disputing this fact?
EON should have been fined more by Ofgem. The fine was a national disgrace.
EON are repeat offenders but Ofgem are not fit for purpose.

Now PR chaps go and waste your time on other things.

Has anybody got money back from EON regarding the £7.75million investigation by Ofgem and as part of the £400,000 already allegedly paid by EON and the £1.00 fine levied by Ofgem ?

Anybody like to share the details?

just looking at the heading of this topic and thinking, is the £1.00 fine by Ofgem tax deductible for EON or is the £7.75million payment(less the £1.00) to a charity tax deductible for EON? Anybody know?

Giving money to charity is an insult.
It should be divided by the victims as compensation.

Yes Mark, but the question is , is it a conflict of interest as well, equally is it done transparently , where does the money go( check where it should be spent) because it not in new barristers or full time legal staff for the CAB.

How is it split between England, Wales and Scotland?

Was a £1.00 fine for a repeat offence by EON Justice, proper, equitable by Ofgem. And is the money tax deductible to a charity?

    Oh My Kingdom for Transparency!
