thanks jammerr... yes there are a few sections i'm going to be asking for some up-to-date info on, particularly cars, nightclubs and a couple of other bits & pieces - as i've no experience of those!

i'm just finishing off uploading the current content - i've proofread and quickly deleted/updated as i've gone through... once all the sections are up, i'll ask for people to make suggestions for new websites/links, etc. which they know of.

my idea is to keep these dozen or so posts constantly updated... (sadly!) i usually check the thread every day anyway, so as-and-when any new info is posted, trip reports, deals, etc. then I'll add them to the front page :)

particularly apps, as these weren't around when the original info was written! :D

Thanks Secretmachines for taking over and doing a great job,

A couple of things that may or may not be of use.

You put most hotels have a resort fee, which is right but of course none of the CET properties do and they do account for quite a few of the mid strip hotels.

It is also worth signing up on the hotels own websites for email offers.

Netflights is another tried car hire company

New info posts look great! Hubby was particularly pleased his 'dopey dolphin' photo made it. ;)

Will have a proper read through this weekend but two suggestions, maybe.

    PLAYERS CLUBS

    ....

You can sign up for these clubs at the casino, you just need to have some photo ID – UK photo driving licence is usually acceptable. (not our experience at Total Rewards casinos - have repeatedly been refused with a UK driving licence even just to get a copy of my card that's been demagnetized - they will not even take a US passport card anymore...annoying as I only got a passport card for this purpose to save having to haul the passport around) Some also allow you to sign up online (in advance) but you don't always qualify for some of the 'freebies' on offer. Also, where there are multiple casinos in one club (e.g. Total Rewards), you can only sign up once so you should check which one offers the best deal for you.

    Maybe include this link?

    http://www.advantageplayer.com/lasvegas/promotions/slotsignups.shtml

which shows the bonuses on offer at various places so people can maybe pre-plan or at least get an idea what the freebies are.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I missed saying hi to trets before the old thread was closed - so hi trets! Glad you are well and I think that where there's a will there's a way...maybe you will make it back to Vegas before you know it. :)

thanks guys, please feel free to start adding/updating anything now... I've not finished, but the all the main content is now up there... over the next week I'll go through each post and put in as many links as I can, where hotels, places, etc. are mentioned... so it's easy for people to click on 'Bellagio' and go to the Bellagio website (or relevant page within)

any info on car rentals, players clubs, nightclubs would be great, as these are areas i've little/no experience of.

i have taken out a fair few bits as there was a lot of out-of-date stuff (well, it was originally written 5 years ago!) - so sorry if your fave bit is missing!

i've also been very careful about the images i have/haven't used - i've either used ones from my personal collection, or ones from the flickr group, so as not to get in any bother with copyright, etc.

where there were images of monorail maps, etc. I will put up links to them on owner's websites, rather than 'pinching' them for here.

Ferf is right about the drivers licence being no good as ID any more. I was told by someone on the desk at Harrah's it was because of slight wording changes from the gaming commission. I think they are rather strict.

They do, think they started in 2010. Flights are Sundays and Thursdays so you have 7, 11 or 14 nights as options
