Hello, wondering if you could help me with this. I am leaving the country due to a family emergency and have debts in the UK which I didn't think I would be able to go BR as I do not have the money, so firstly I would like to say thanks for this thread as I did not know I could get help with the fees. However you say that it will take a while and I am living the country next week (obviously family emergency can't wait) so is this something that I can do from abroad? Is it even possible to apply to bank-corrupcy from a different country?0

Hi destino, I'm not sure as timelines can differ so much, anything from 3-8 weeks.
For info about becoming BR while abroad see click on blue link below and please do start a thread of the main board for more support and information.

The Charity for Civil Servants, it used to be known as The Civil Service Benevolent Fund.
They will help with bankruptcy fees for people who work or have worked in any CS departments. I used to work for DWP and they helped me.0 -

There are a number of charities that may help with bankruptcy costs and fees depending on eligibility.
Your local branch office may have a welfare officer to support your application or you can apply direct to authoship.0
