Semi-skimmed freezes well, as does skimmed.
I took home whatever milk the office had remaining in the office fridge on New Year's Eve and froze them. Otherwise they would have gone off by today anyway.
The stock will come in handy for sauces and hot chocolates! ;D0 -
Eeeek...got a minor milk emergency...run out and its a mile walk to the shops. Had some semi-skimmed in the freezer but it's taking an age to thaw. Would it be OK to put it in the microwave on de-frost does anyone know?

A reply from an earlier thread on freezing milk...
"Defrosted milk should be shaken thoroughly before pouring, otherwise it can look as though it's gone off when you add it to tea/coffee etc.
Also, don't be tempted to defrost it in the microwave. The milk splits into cream & a watery mess!"
I think it was savingsnewbie who posted it but apologies if I'm wrong!Mink0 -
I would stand the bottle of milk in warm water, but it wont be quick I'm afraid.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0
