That's a great amount to pay off in a month

I think it's this time of year where everyone's budgets start slipping as Xmas is coming up and the cold months are here for a while so comfort eating goes hand in hand with this xx

Thank you all for your comments :D.

I've had a quiet day at home the last couple of days as DC3 hasn't been feeling brilliant. She's been waking up at night lots more than usual, so we've been taking it easier to recover from lack of sleep!! We go on holiday on Monday, which we're all really looking forward to. I've got the fun job of packing this weekend, as DH is working away for a lot of the weekend. Also need to make DC3s birthday cake. Annoyingly we had planned to go to a friends bonfire/fireworks party tomorrow night, but DH is now working away and DC3 isn't 100%. I'm not sure whether we will go (which I feel terrible about), but it doesn't start until 7.30, which is past the DCs bedtime and I'd have to go on my own to an event with over 100 people of which I'd know 1 other adult. I know it sounds like a real cop out, but it's hard work at times on my own and the thought of being in a field trying to keep a check on all 3 DC in the dark isn't overly appealing! Will have a think and decide tomorrow.

Today I've paid £14 to CC3. Is nice to make the first pad of the month. Need to keep on track this month with my budgets, as really want to hit my repayment goal at the end of December, so I need to pay £1k in November and £1k in December. I usually pay £650 a month, so I need to find £350 each month. Hopefully DH will do some extra days at work which will help us achieve this. Ive listed a few bits on gumtree, so hopefully they might sell soon.

Thanks Jwil. I can't wait to go :).

It's been a busy weekend. I was doing so well getting bits ready for holiday and DC3s birthday, but i now seem to be really behind on my things to do. I managed to make DC3s birthday cake, which I'm really pleased about. I only managed to finish it 5 mins before my family came round to see DC3. Its ridiculous in a way how worked up I got about making a cake and getting it finished in time. I seem to have got myself into a tradition of making the kids birthday cakes (which I enjoy doing), but 9 times out of 10 it gets stressful doing it!!

DH arrived home just after lunch, so has managed to pack his clothes for holiday tomorrow. It's now just me that isn't sorted! I've got all the kids ready, but somehow neglected my own stuff! Going to make a list (I love a to do list!) in a minute of everything we need to bring. Also still need to bring in and possibly wrap DC3s bike ready for her birthday tomorrow.

Anyway money wise I paid £67 to CC3 yesterday and today I couldn't resist paying £100 to take the balance of CC3 to £5,999. I do love getting it into the next bracket. I won't be making any pads this week whilst away (hence the larger payments this weekend).

Hope everyone has a good week :).

I've finally managed to get on here and post on my diary. Had a fantastic time away last week. Did loads of walking and the DC got to ride their bikes miles every day. Was absolutely exhausted when we arrived home Saturday! Not used to doing that much exercise! It has made me very aware of how much better/happier I feel when I have done lots of walking. Really need to pull my finger out and find time to do more exercise. I always have good intentions, but it slips so easily. Since we've been home DC3 has been poorly. Poor thing started with a stomach bug, followed by heavy cold and cough and now has got conjunctivitis and really awful nappy rash! As a result we haven't managed to do much at all all week, except for lazy days cuddling her on the sofa. Really hoping she's over the worst of it now and will be back to her usual self soon.

Money wise the dd for CC4 has come out and I've paid £9 to CC3. Will check the bank account in a bit and transfer a bit more across to CC3.

I've definitely had the post holiday blues this week, especially as I've been house bound with a poorly DC3. Really need to declutter the house, as was pretty depressing coming back to a cluttered house after being in an imaculate holiday accommodation. Have been trying to sell some old kids toys, but no luck yet. Will have to start reducing the price in the hope that they go.

Just read the entire diary and took me 2 days :-)

We are also both self employed and saving for the January and July tax bills are a nightmare - although like you we’ve just both received rebates for overpaying. To ensure we pay on time for January I’ve submitted our returns early and then set up weekly direct debits to ensure the amount due is paid on time. Just a thought?

You are so dedicated to paying off the debt and clearly a very dedicated mum. Also clearly a great wife too hope your OH appreciates all you do!

Your diary is a true testament to changing habits long term and committing to paying off debt from being frugal. I’ve loved reading :-) and will definitely follow along
